Buffy the Vampire Hunter Reboot a Mistake Says Nicolas Brendon

Nicolas Brendon calls Buffy Reboot a Mistake
As our news that Heather Morris may or may not take on the central character in the big screen reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer continues to makes its way around the net, a former Buffy cast member has come forward to call the remake a mistake. Here is what Nicholas Brendon (aka Xander Harris) told E! Online in regards to his thoughts on Warner Bros. bringing Buffy out of retirement:

"I hope their vampires don't glitter. You know, listen...I think it's a mistake, I think that it's trying to kind of-they have to reach a whole completely new fanbase. And we already have that fanbase. So it's going to really be hard to kind of do that. But you know, everyone: They remade The Flintstones. Twice, I think."

At this time, there is no indication that any former Buffy cast member will be making an appearance in the new movie. It certainly seems that Nicholas Brendon isn't up for the idea.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is in development .

the character was created before Joss came in, the feature film was created do to his script but was altered into a spoof of which he didn't want. Now we all know that Buffy came to TV and it has a royal fan base.
As a fan and as a writer I feel this is the biggest mistake ever. I will stand beside Joss and his Buffy crew for this.
    Don't S*** on Joss and his Buffy-verse

not a fan of this reboot/remake whatever you want to call it. But it find it very ironic that people are so bent about Buffy coming back to the big screen. This all started with a goofy movie that was adapted (ie rebooted) for TV. So why not let it finish where it started?

Vampire Hunter, I think not. Whedon and now Brendon have spoke out against this. That's how much of a giant mistake it is. I also agree with all comments below me...

@bane Well one cast member you won't hear saying anything about it, is Sarah. Besides her retirement from acting (for the time being), she doesn't really like the character/mythos anymore. That's why Whedon had to stop at Season 7 and why she wouldn't come back for a reunion or had no idea what was happening with Season 8 (Brendon had to tell her that Buffy laid a chick - ironic). It would be awesome for the true Buffy to speak out but too bad it will never happen.

@CrazyMarty.... how about this also...lets say Andy Warhol were still alive, and he heard that someother artist was gonna start duplicating his work, something he worked hard to create and make famous in the world...how do u think Warhol would react?
