Bryan Singer Is Confirmed to Direct Battlestar Galactica

Bryan Singer to Helm Battlestar Galactica?
Bryan Singer to Helm Battlestar Galactica?
Updated: Variety has confirmed that Bryan Singer will both produce and direct a feature version of Battlestar Galactica for the big screen. In the same story, the director's reps denied that Singer was at all involved with the upcoming X-Men: First Class prequel, which Singer was rumored to be directing next. Universal Studios has stated that Battlestar Galactica will not have anything to do with the popular Syfy television series of the same name, but would be "a complete reimagination."

In a story from HitFix.com it looks like Universal Pictures could be close to inking a deal with Bryan Singer (Superman Returns) to produce and maybe even direct a Battlestar Galactica feature film.

Currently, no plot or story details have been worked out. Apparently, the studio is waiting to get him on board then they need to find a writer.

This past February Glen Larson put together a deal with Universal to make a Galactica film. Might Singer and Larson be teaming up on this project?

Apparently, Singer and producer Tom DeSanto (Transformers) were putting together a new TV series based on the original Battlestar Galactica show. This was back in 2001 but it ended up not happening.

Battlestar Galactica is in development . The film is directed by Bryan Singer.

Listen Delgren, i don't give too sh*ts about the U.S politics as much as i give 2 bullocks about the U.K's politics, why because they don't concern me.

I'm not disrespecting anyone's politics, i just like the visual feel of the poster that is my current avatar.
You don't like it...fine...then just shut the f*ck up.

Most probable is that politians just love f*cking our countries back, front and sideways.

    Gordan Brown anal's the UK.

While the U.S will probably destroy what Obama does

End of the day politians f*ck up countries

I don't give a f*ck of what the topic is. I understand this isn't your country of origin, you weren't born here or what not, and maybe thats why you don't mind disrespecting other peoples politics just to look cool. That said, you throw some sh*t up like that at time like this, then you get what you pay for. It's like wearing a swastika around Isreal just cause you think the symbol looks cool or 'wicked', chances are your gonna get your sh*t kicked in and know ones going to bother and ask if you meant it or not.

Well, Delgren plz take a number fill a form, and we will return to your interest of my avatar very shortly.

Simply fact is the subject topic is not about my avatar, but Battlestar Galactica (lol that rhymed).
I think the poster is pretty cool, not the concept but the visual, are wicked, i like it that all that needs to be said.
Your opinion is duly noted but not any of my concern when relating to my avatar, at least i don't think i'm Batman :D

Ollie, i agree...trust me this will be based on an expanded version of Singer's failed pitch for the 2001 series.

Do you know what series needs a Reboot or film adaptation...

DID ANY ONE HERE WATCH A CGI SERIES CALLED REBOOT?

That would be awesome, if helmed by the same people behind Tron.

Why don`t we reboot every f*cking show that has ever existed!!?? C`mon,.. the new tv series is really cool,.. and thats already a reeboot of the 70`s show... Do we really need a big screen adaptation, with a completely different approach again.. a second adaptation!!??? If they do it, it better be good,.. like the new star trek movie, although that one had its flaws..

Why not come up with an entirely new consept altogether, with lots of starships, planets and aliens.... dont just reboot old stuff.,.

Ok sooooooo i guess BattleStar Galactica movie has been been destroyed before it has even started pre-production....LOVELY!!

It's most probably now that the film will be based on Singer's rejected series for the 2001 series but he will just sum it up into a movie, henceforth why it will be a 'complete reimagining.'

And well if the studios rejected it, it can't be all that good, but mind you half the studios in Hollywood are on some kind of awkward cool drugs, they can even make PG-13 porn now...

I want Doomsday so bad in a Superman film but I think they should do it last and have him actually kill Superman in for the last film it'd be different and original for a comic book movie.

    Hmmmmmm....

Interesting i like the BSG series, and yes it does have its moments and can be done really well, if written and directed well, but that aint up Singer's alley, leave it to someone else...

Go for Wolverine 2 or Superman Returns 2, or something else.
Singer aint for the sci-fi genre

  23. Vanboy

I agree. Superman Returns was good, but I didn't like the plot of Lex Luthor combining Kryptonite with that other crystal. What made them bind together. It would seem that once the other crystal grew, it would shatter the Kryptonite. And Superman going out to find survivorsof Krypton? The planet was destroyed. No one could survive. Why did they have him make this pointless trip? And why did he return in a ship? Did he need a ship. Did this ship fly faster that him? Did he forget how to fly so fast that he could reverse the rotation of the Earth? They should have had Superman fight another super villian. I hear Bizaro is going to be in the new movie. That sounds cool! "Leave Bryan Singer alooone, Leave him aloh, ho, ho ,hone. He didn't do anything to you! Leave him alone! He's been under a lot of pressure directing movies! Leave him alooone! leavehimalone." Sorry, couldn't resist.

Why do people cut Bryan Singer with bad credit, look i know Bryan is a bad writer also because iv'e read the drafts he has done, but actually none of them have really been used. The guy is good, Superman Returns was very good, i liked it. The only thing i did not like about the film was the fact that they made Superman have a kid, that destroyed it for me. But still i appreciated what Singer did with direction, also the movie gave an all new insight on the superhero. X-1 and X-2 were kick-ass. Valkerie was alright and i didn't like cruise but otherwise the rest of the movie was pretty tight. The guy is good, leave hime alone.

I think the world has had enough BG to last another ten years. They ruined what the original was. Making Starbuck a female was the worst idea ever. They tried to make her a badass to make up for it. The original Starbuck wasn't a badass, he was the ladies man. And in the new one, everybody turning out to be Cylons just proved that they got a gimmick and ran off the deep end with it. If they make this movie, they need to do it like the original series, only ampted up. And bring back Muffit, the Daggit. And yes, Bryan Singer needs to do X-Men 4, and clean up Brett Ratners mess. Get Jean Grey out of the Cocoon at the bottom of the lake and bring back Cyclops and Professor Xavier. While we're at it, get James Cameron to do a take off of Aliens, so we can forget about those ridiculous sequels that destroyed the franchise.

Since it's based on the old original show then I'm in. It wasn't Brian's fault that X-Men 3 stank, that was Brett's.
Ron Moore's version was awesome but he put the crew and the colony on past earth.
