Bryan Singer Confirmed to Direct Superman: The Man of Steel

It has been confirmed that Bryan Singer (X-Men) will return to direct Superman: The Man of Steel, the sequel to Superman Returns. IESB spoke to a source at Warner Brothers who confirmed Singer's involvement.

The story also provides insight as to who may be writing the script. Writers Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, who wrote Superman Returns, are out. So who is in? Well, the strong possibility is that the film will be written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The duo previously gained notice for their script writing on Transformers.

The pair of writers have apparently had "several meetings" with Warner Brothers regarding the film.

Brandon Routh, who played Superman in Superman Returns, has already confirmed that he will be returning for Superman: The Man of Steel as well.

Man of Steel comes to theaters June 14th, 2013 and stars Russell Crowe, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Laurence Fishburne, Christopher Meloni. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

I was watching it again the other night, two to four things bugged the hell out of me, the kid which I think is a clone. Kate, Kevin and that island.
Kevin is a good actor but not that great, same thing with Kate, well how the ---- did Superman lift that thing anyway. That's the part I really don't understand, sheer force from him would kill the character. I still think he had hidden help, the JLA must have helped him when he wasn't looking.

Now Bryan old buddy, ditch the current actress and Keven, explain more about the kid is that the next big surprise. Telling everyone that it's Super boy.

Superman, what a great franchise. Singer's take wasn't that bad. It was actually great. It didn't appeal to the masses because we've grown accustom to heavy action, that it is hard to acquaint ourselves with a more story-driven beginning; it would be nice to see how it unfolds. But to approach a project that has been dormant for quite sometime is a feat in itself. I thought Singer did a decent job with his first attempt, and I think it'll get better as it progresses onward. Anxious to see the next installment.

    Thank you.

i'm not sure if this has already been mentioned (2,337 are wayyyy too many to go through) but I think Singer will do a great job. He did an amazing job with valkyrie and if he keeps it up the new superman will be unreal.

Why can't commenters write a complete and comprehensible sentence? I can't understand 1/32 of these comments. You know what that's like? It's like being in a country where I don't speak the language. Except there is no Incomprehensible to English translator.

i personally enjoyed this film and wouldnt mind seeing another, however im my opinion the sotry does need to be amp up quite a bit. the acting was good directing and even the costume in my opinion kinda A modern touch, but the story needs more

SUPERKID thing was so unnecessary! Just bring METALLO or BRAINIAC and have some full on fist fights! Learn something from B.BEGINS, or even the sh*tty SPIDEY 3! At least it had action!

Wonderful news of bryan singers return to the superman franchise, however i hope this new film will be a better one than the last, I have the greatest respect for brandon Routh's performance in the last movie, i think he was very good. Kate Bosworth's Lois Lane was stiff and wooden, i hope she will be replaced.

One more thing note to the costume department, drop that awful superman outfit.
