Bryan Singer Confirmed to Direct Superman: The Man of Steel

It has been confirmed that Bryan Singer (X-Men) will return to direct Superman: The Man of Steel, the sequel to Superman Returns. IESB spoke to a source at Warner Brothers who confirmed Singer's involvement.

The story also provides insight as to who may be writing the script. Writers Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, who wrote Superman Returns, are out. So who is in? Well, the strong possibility is that the film will be written by Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. The duo previously gained notice for their script writing on Transformers.

The pair of writers have apparently had "several meetings" with Warner Brothers regarding the film.

Brandon Routh, who played Superman in Superman Returns, has already confirmed that he will be returning for Superman: The Man of Steel as well.

Superman: Man of Steel comes to theaters June 14th, 2013 and stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

    But to answer your question, I disagree. You went on a rant about how Singer should be bringing people coffee instead of directing movies... I like Singer, and despite what you may think of Superman Returns or any of his other films, he is good. So naturally, I'm going to disagree with you, friend.

    @thajackal - Referring to Singer as "Singerman" and Superman Returns as "Singerman Returns" has gotten really old now, don't you think? Returns wasn't a film about Bryan Singer, it was about Superman (just caught myself saying it wasn't a Bryan Singer film, lol)... Had to rephrase). Singer captured the essence of who Superman is perfectly. Tell me that after everything you've heard of the reboot, you don't still want this film to happen. Same with you @remy72883.

    BTW, I've thought about adding you in the past @thajackal because I know you're a Smallville fan, and some of the things you have to say sometimes as far as your opinions go are understandable, but for the most part you have about the same level of intelligence as a flea.

    this guy sucks now anyways as a director, now Chirs Nolan that's a director, if you cant keep up, dont bother stepping up singer, i bet it hurts his feelings knowing that every person out their wanted Nolan to direct this over him, he should be getting coffee for people now instead of directing films, i think that is the closest this guy should be to a movie set

    Singerman Returns was not an origin movie so what movie did you see? They didn't even once talk about his origin they had a movie of him returning after being away 5 years, and the movie was about how he didn't fit into society anymore, and blah blah blah the movie sucked.

    I liked superman returns as much as i liked batman begins. Great origin/character based movies. With that being said, Man of Steel should be just as epic as The Dark Knight. Especially since Christopher Nolan is one of the producers. All I ask for is a villain worthy of theatrical release. Let Lex rot on that island we left him on.
