Bruce Willis Speaks Out on Die Hard 5 and Unbreakable 2

Bruce Willis says Die Hard 5 for next year
Bruce Willis' new film Cop Out hits theaters nationwide on February 26 and the actor has been out doing the press rounds for the film, which, of course, leads to talk of what's next for the actor. Willis recently told MTV that plans seem to be in the works for Die Hard 5.

"I think we're going to do a Die Hard 5 next year," Willis told the site. He also added that he would like to see an international feel to the new film. "It's got to go worldwide," the actor said about the potential plotline. "That would be my contribution to it." He also said that he would like Live Free or Die Hard director Len Wiseman to direct this new film.

He also told MTV Splash Page that there is a potential sequel to his 2000 film Unbreakable happening as well.

"I talked to [Shyamalan] over the holidays, and he is still thinking about doing the fight movie between me and Sam that we were going to do," Willis told MTV News.

"We chose to do the origin," he explained, indicating that there was discussion early on about whether Willis' character and the villain played by Samuel L. Jackson should square off in the first movie or a sequel.

"As long as Sam can make it, I'm up for it," said Willis.

Cop Out was released February 26th, 2010 and stars Bruce Willis, Tracy Morgan, Juan Carlos Hernández, Cory Fernandez, Ana de la Reguera, Jason Hurt, Jeff Lima, Sean Cullen. The film is directed by Kevin Smith.

Unbreakable was released November 22nd, 2000 and stars Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, Robin Wright, Spencer Treat Clark, Charlayne Woodard, Eamonn Walker, Leslie Stefanson, Johnny Hiram Jamison. The film is directed by M. Night Shyamalan.

You know....I kind of agree with you on that "Unbreakable" thing being great and should stand alone; but it would be kind of interesting to see what they will come up with this time, and whether it'll be better than it was or just another.....About the Die Hard part, I highly disagree.

Unbreakable is an excellent film--it doesn't need a prequel or a sequel. It's a stand-alone film which doesn't need any more explanation or back-story. To make another installment giving all of this exposition would ruin the mystery and grit that the first established. As for Die Hard 5, I enjoy the originals to a degree, but the last fan-fare PG-13 flick was just ridiculously stupid and it's best moments were advertised up the wazoo during the trailers.

Bruce and "Die hard" makers had been standing up for this movie, and for good reason.....THIS MOVIE IS OFF THE CHAIN, a really awesome movie since it first came out........I Would really like to see what this new one will bring; what kind of terrorist act will it now do...

Hey, Lets not forget about that Unbreakable.....I like a lot.

I'm a fan of Willis, since I've seen most of his films. back in 2000 I thought Die hard would be at film 10 by now, I was wrong on that account.

I loved Die Hard 4, and I would love to see a sequel. I think they've managed to really keep the John McLane character in the same spirit throughout all the films, and that is what makes them work despite changes in setting and other characters. If they do make a Die Hard 5 it would be nice to see them go back to the Christmas theme or at least have cameos by some of the old characters. Remember in part 2 when he called up Carl Winslow on the phone? Something small like that would be cool, maybe featuring Sam Jackson, like syndicate says.

As for Unbreakable 2, I tend to lean towards ParkWilliams' opinion. The first one is one of my favorite films of all time, and represented Shyamalan in his prime. I don't think he has the writing talent to pull off a great sequel anymore. But I guess we'll see how The Last Airbender turns out.

I don't know what to think about Unbreakable 2. The first one is a masterpiece, I'm just not sure how I feel about a sequel this far into the future and with the first one being so incredible in and of itself. Put me down for healthy skepticism on this one, though Die Hard 5 will be pretty sweet if Live Free or Die Hard was any indication.

  10. The Narrator: The Better Man

@syndicate, John Woo should damn near retire in my opinion. His "action flicks" are always cheesy and just time consuming. Still a directing veteran, but at least he's not what a possibly "final" Die Hard flick needs.

Hope that Die Hard 5 will be rated R and have a good story with lot of action, shoot out and blood like Die Hard with a Vengance. Don't want it being like Live Free Die Hard, and have Samuel L. Jackson's character back again. Well that part is extra, so it can go either way. They can even get John Woo to direct, as they plan on it and decide. Then it will be rated R for sure and not like the last one.

Willis has never been in a bad film, it's some of the directors I don't like.
Now that Cop Out is out, it's time for D5 then do U2, then back to D6 that'll keep Bruce busy for a few years.

HELL YEAH!! Die Hard 5 I am a big fan of Willlis! But it needs to be Rated R. Not PG-13. Also Unbreakable 2 would Be the Sh*t* As long as Sam Jackson, Shyamalan are involved also.
