Not really sure it matters who he brings in, seriously.......can this movie really be saved? We all wanted to watch G.I. Joe because we wanted it to match what our imaginations gave us as kids. Not going to happen. This is after all just another war movie with an open agenda just hoping to snag onto something. It will never be anything other then a weak copy. Saving private Ryan is a classic, It had history. Now I am not saying that with the right director or idea it can't be done right, I just do not see it right now.

I enjoyed the first movie for what it was. It was just dumb, turn off your brain action popcorn flick but it could have been great. That is why I have high hopes that this could live up to it's potential. So far, there is a great cast and the movie has great writers so that is a good sign. This is Jon Chu's first action picture and he seems to love G.I. Joe so he might also bring the goods. I have hopes that this might be good. I hope I am not let down by this movie.

The Rise of Cobra was a "family" movie. It was intended as a popcorn flick! nothing more, nothing less. There are fun movies like these that just put you right to sleep or bore the fuk out of you after a good 15-20mins. But no not gi joe, this movie is 1 of those movies that keeps going, and doesnt stop for a slow moment. I loved this movie so much from a "popcorn flick" point of view when it comes to "fun" , But when You sit there and actually take it serioualy, it doesnt work, not for a sec.
The movie started off bad, really bad. i dont remember the year but it was in the 1800s? or sumthing. Then yrs go by and we see sumthing that looks like 2005 even tho it doesnt say wat year it is, but it reads "in the not so distant future" or sumthing.? yet, no flying cars, or anything that show us its the future. .... moving on...
it was getting good after that up until we see the bad guys attack duke and his army with lazer guns. but i'l let that slide for now. Next it gets even worse when heavy duty shows them a suit for catching bad guys? 1st of all if this was a serious movie, there wouldnt/shouldnt b no suits of any kind like this. Their stupid lil toys to fight with r dumb. and this is suposed to be a team that does not fail. but sumhow they did.. Anyways theres alot of things wrong w this movie if taken seriously but like i said, its a fun type of movie, "open-minded" if you will.
It doesnt help that duke 'wanted in" in the joes not knowing who the fuk they even were.
Going thru the streets of paris running like idiots wreaking havc as a professional army, is kinda blah. scarlet's bike which she nabs from that 1 guy, getting hit by pasing cars and nothing happens to her nor the bike, while making an inposable jump over a rope is an error in my book. Same thing goes for the blk truck storm & baronessare are in. It shows it getting hit many times by other cars and nothing happenes to it, getting hit by a passing train and flying like that is another error. So for all these lil parts, the only good part was...the begining right after the 1800s thing, and the ending when they show the USS CARRIER which was like 5secs, lolz
If youstop to think about everything you saw in TROC all that chit looks badass as va cartoon version. not a live action movie. because in a cartoon, anything can happen. Its the same reason i didnt like transformers. Cartoons were fun and watever we saw or see in those, would never work in an actual movie. Unless a really good director can make it happen. w/out making it feel/look cheesy. As much as These guys wanna grab kids in the seats to watch these movies, i say Dont waste ur time because ur gonna end up putting more money into va movie than wat u will b getting out of it. because people go to see a good movie that shows stuff not a pg or pg13 crap.
They should learn from "batman begins", dark knight" rise of cobra", "spiderman" superman returns" "thor, Captin america" ect. all pg13 movies, i know, but they did not look as cheesy as they would have been. acting/story wise.

i liked the first movie, i didnt love it but it was fun. but they f*cked up with with the commander, i like jgl but the back story was weak and dukes story with the baroness was all wrong, i believe in the comics and shows that it was duke and scarlett. duke was just terrible, channing tatum is horrible, he's like a watching a block of wood. i know the general consensus about reboots is dont do it, but this would be a different case in my opinion.
this is what i'd change or leave-
1. change duke - tatum is horrible, in just about everything (although he wasnt bad in a guide to recognizing your saints) but who would be good, he has to have heart and be a strong leader.
2. make it a bit darker, not dark knight dark lol, but a bit more serious. the joes need to be bad ass.
3. keep jgl, but go with the more recognizable costumes for the commander, though i did like "the doctor" costume.
4. use less cgi, some of it was just soooo bad, like the part with heavy duty shooting from the plane, just because your making a movie that can be kid friendly doesnt mean the fx have to be cartoonish. i myself like more practcal fx.
5. have cobra up and running, and have them be a real threat
6. as i said before keep ray parks as snake eyes, and give him more bad ass realistic fight sequences, some of my favorite fights are from the bourne series.
sorry if this is long, i'm sure i could come up with more. bottom line for me, the movie was enjoyable even to watch more than once but it could have been so much more. oh and bruce willis would be cool for this if done right.

just got done watching the G.i. Joe movie for the sec time. The first was in the movie theater leaving a awful taste in my mouth from bad acting, story line, and crapy special effects. Hey I got an idea lets get that director of those mummy movies. Yea and then he can put some of the actors from those films in this one as cameos with bad lines. Everyone will like that. The only thing that was cool about this film was Ray Parks as Sneak Eyes. Lets just do a movie about him, and he doesn't have to say a line.

That should sum up most people's feelings. Throwing big names at it won't make it good.

I thought the first movie was fun. It didn't take itself seriously, and it was significantly better than Transformers. But with The Rock and Willis lined up for the sequel, it's almost certainly going to be a better movie.

They can get whoever they want, but it's how they handle the script that will determine how I will view this film. They need to fix some of the mistakes made in the first film.

Mr. Fixit
The first movie could have been A LOT better, and the characters should have been more along with the comics. Stormshadow was the biggest joke about the movie. They had better serve us up some redemption on this movie if they are bringing in Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson.

@jasonkat , i think your going a little over board on the casting of Bruce Willis, that man is on of the ultimate action heroes, if anything one of the originals, i honesly believe he is perfect for the role of the Don Dada joe, but thats me. I like you film combination idea though, lets hope this movie will put you right!!
