Brittany Murphy is gearing up to replace Lindsay Lohan in the Scott Marshall feature Poor Things. According to The Hollywood Reporter, negotiations have not yet been finalized.

Poor Things is the story of two female con artists who befriend and then murder homeless men in order to collect on their insurance policies. Murphy would join a cast that already includes Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Rosario Dawson and Channing Tatum.

Murphy begins production this week on the anticipated independent picture Across the Hall.

Across the Hall was released December 4th, 2009 and stars Mike Vogel, Brittany Murphy, Danny Pino, Brad Greenquist, Arie Verveen, Natalie Smyka, Guillermo Díaz, Dov Davidoff. The film is directed by Alex Merkin.
