British Newcomer Gemma Arterton Lands Role as a Bond Girl
Arterton will play "Fields" in the Marc Forster-directed movie which stars Daniel Craig reprising his role as Agent 007.
On Friday, Eon Prods. in London and Santa Monica-based Danjaq Productions, as well as Arterton's agent, ICM in London, confirmed the casting. Details of her character were not available, but a Danjaq representative said "it's a nice-sized role."
The film will take up where 2006's Casino Royale left off and is scheduled to be released on November 7th.
Quantum of Solace was released November 14th, 2008 and stars Daniel Craig, Olga Kurylenko, Mathieu Amalric, Judi Dench, Giancarlo Giannini, Gemma Arterton, Jeffrey Wright, David Harbour. The film is directed by Marc Forster.

I'm sure this movie will be good, because I didn't know who the actors were in Casino Royale, and that was great. However, I would like to see a familiar, hot, actress that I KNOW will do a good job.

MI6.com is reporting that according to their sources, Gemma Arterton's role in the new Bond film is "not the major role," meaning the real Bond girl has yet to be cast. They stress that "extensive" casting searches have focused on finding a Latin American actress for that position and they also say that Moneypenny is not thought to figure into this film -- so who is Arterton playing? The fact that her given name is "Fields" instead of something like Baroness von Whoever, I now think it's likely to assume that she's some new MI6 recruit who either gets killed early on or turns out to be a villain later in the piece like Rosamund Pike in "Die Another Day".

Great some "NEW" actress that we can't even pronounce her name!!
The only movie I know she will be in, is Guy Ritchie's new film "RocknRolla"!
