Mr. Lucky: According to Variety, Blue Star Pictures and Revolution Studios have signed veteran comedy helmer Brian Levant to direct Cedric the Entertainer starrer Mr. Lucky.

Levant (Beethoven, The Flintstones) recently wrapped shooting on Revolution's Ice Cube comedy Are We There Yet?, which is skedded for a January release.

Cedric will play Malcolm Crowley, a former Vegas high roller now broke and living contentedly at a spiritual retreat in the Tibetan Himalayas. He's mistaken for a multimillionaire, whisked away to the brand new Everest Casino in Las Vegas and given a $2 million credit line. Before the hotel realizes its mistake, he's won $15 million.

The film's anticipated start date is spring.
