Brian de Palma's The Fury Set to Be Remade

Horror fans can get set for a new dose of Fury. According to Variety, Fox 2000 is eyeing up a remake of Brian De Palma's 1978 horror film, The Fury.

The studio has tapped hot new scribes Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman to write this modernization. The film will center on a young man with telekinetic powers who is abducted by the government to exploit his gifts.

McGreevy and Shipman had penned Of Every Wickedness, a spec script that received massive buzz around Hollywood and secured their gig for this remake.

The original film starred Kirk Douglas, John Cassavettes and Amy Irving.

Freakin' stop the remakes already! I mean, Jesus, is hollywood really that desperate? Books, videogames or t.v. shows turned into movies is okay, but there's been way too many remakes!!!
