Brandon Routh Is Still Superman: The Man of Steel!

It seems that Brandon Routh may still be slated to wear the red and blue tights of Superman in the sequel to Bryan Singer's Superman Returns. Contrary to earlier rumors that Routh was out as Superman, Ain't It Cool News has discovered otherwise.

The next time that Superman appears on the big screen will be in George Miller's Justice League of America. In this film, an actor other than Routh will be playing the role of Superman - just like there will be an actor other than Christian Bale playing Batman. However, in the next stand-alone Superman film, tentatively titled Superman: The Man of Steel, Warner still wants Routh to return.

So, just to clarify; We will see a new Superman in Justice League of America. But Routh will still be Superman when they make Superman: The Man of Steel.

Justice League of America is in development .

Superman: Man of Steel comes to theaters June 14th, 2013 and stars Henry Cavill, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Michael Shannon, Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond. The film is directed by Zack Snyder.

    its to avoid creating any connection between the justice league movie and the other DC comic films. to show that they are not based on the same plots. and i think Singer might do a better job the second time round but i think DC might be done playing around with people screwing up their heroes reps in films. so once the director makes one bad film they are done is the way im taking it.

    the JLA movie will suck balls, i'm glad routh will be returning for the man of steel, he did a really good job at taking over the part, yes the story could hv been better but it didn't deserve the slating everyone gave it. Hopefully they'll learnt and taken note and make the 2nd movie far superior to the 1st.

    If they make this JLA movie they need to bring it this can't be just any run of the mill movie you got all this super heroes on the screen it needs to be big the biggest action movie of the year they half stepped Superman Returns and they need to get it together but I am glad Brandon Routh will be returning.

    Brandon Routh IS Superman now! He was awesome in "Superman Returns", even though the story could have been stronger. I am SOOOOOO SICK of everything getting disrupted by this goddamned Justice League movie....THAT WILL SUCK SO BAD!!! I was extremely disturbed by what I read the other day regarding Routh's possible exit from the next Superman movie. Now I am breathing a major sigh of relief. But they also need Bryan Singer! In fact I can't see the next movie being any good without his direction. Like Sam Raimi with "Spider-Man", Singer has THE PASSION for The Man Of Steel that we all want to see on screen. At Comic-Con 2006 he said he wanted to "go all Wrath Of Khan" with the next movie. Just make sure you bring Routh, bring Singer, and BRING IT ON!

    I'm glad to hear Routh will be returning-now if they can get Bryan Singer back, it should be good. Hopefully Supes actually fights a SUPER-villain this time, not Lex Luthor for the billionth time. I wanna see Bizarro or Brainiac, maybe even both! No, scratch that, not both. They'd need a villain for the third one, if thier is a third one.

    For once I'm glad to hear someone came to their senses and kept Routh on for Man of Steel, now quick write a script before they change their minds.

    I was a big Justice League Unlimited fan, so I live action is going to be hard sell for me. There better be a good story and a lot of big battles with several Super villains.

    It's a shame that Superman sucks as a character. I can already tell you how the next film will go. Some evil genius will plan for world domination, find some Kryptonite, and give Superman a kicking..then right at the end, some lame human (L. Lane) will save his ass....then Superman comes back and smears the badguys all over Metropolis...the end. Superman needs a new image!!
