IGN has just released the first trailer from the upcoming film, Punisher: War Zone, which is set to invade theaters on December 5. Click below to get your first look at the film with its new star Ray Stevenson.

Starring Ray Stevenson (HBO's "Rome") as Punisher, Punisher: War Zone is directed by Lexi Alexander and produced by Gale Anne Hurd and Ari Arad. Waging his one-man war on the world of organized crime, ruthless vigilante-hero Frank Castle sets his sights on overeager mob boss Billy Russoti. After Russoti is left horribly disfigured by Castle, he sets out for vengeance under his new alias: Jigsaw. With the "Punisher Task Force" hot on his trail and the FBI unable to take Jigsaw in, Frank must stand up to the formidable army that Jigsaw has recruited before more of his evil deeds go unpunished.

Punisher: War Zone was released December 5th, 2008 and stars Ray Stevenson, Dominic West, Doug Hutchison, Colin Salmon, Wayne Knight, Dash Mihok, Julie Benz, Stephanie Janusauskas. The film is directed by Lexi Alexander.

    there is nothing wrong with a dark movie, but it depends on how good it all comes together. movies like Sweeney Todd was good and Sleepy Hollow, Daredevil was kinda dark and so was the other punisher movie, but this one seems like a sh*tty, corny, pushing it type of dark...

    wow, travis.. nice. anyways the other Punisher was cool, but this one looks terrible. its too "dark toned" and has nobody in the cast. i havent even heard of this "Ray Stevenson" and yes i have heard of HBO's Rome, but nothing about this guy. Anyways the other movie was dark, it had gun fights and knife fights and everything. they even had a bow and arrow for the punisher to use. thats pretty sweet, rambo style. lol.

    Ray Stevenson looks awesome as the Punisher, but I am concerned b/c personally I hate John Woo-esque stylized action, and this looks like it's going to have a lot of that. I prefer good 'ol fashioned blunt force action, not ballerinas with berettas.
