In an unprecedented move, director Christopher Nolan is filming four sequences in the next installment of Warner Bros. Pictures' Batman franchise, The Dark Knight, with extremely high resolution IMAX cameras using the giant 15/70 film format. While it is not unique for a feature lensed on traditional 35mm film to be re-mastered to screen in IMAX theatres, this marks the first time ever that a major feature film has been even partially shot using IMAX cameras, marking a revolutionary integration of the two film formats.

The marriage of footage filmed with IMAX and 35mm cameras in the final feature will have a major impact on the audience's viewing experience, whether seeing The Dark Knight in an IMAX or traditional theatre.

The first of the scenes, including a prologue that introduces Batman's arch-nemesis The Joker, was shot in April, several weeks in advance of the actual start of principal photography. Additional selected scenes are being filmed with IMAX cameras during the course of production on The Dark Knight.

The Dark Knight arrives in theatres on July 18th, 2008.

The Dark Knight was released July 18th, 2008 and stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Monique Gabriela Curnen. The film is directed by Christopher Nolan.

ok bale whips keaton's ass as batman. there is no comparing the two. and you have to understand what is going with these movies MAELIFIC its a remake of the series. SChumacher destroyed the old series and the joker is the biggest foe of batman so it only makes since that they would bring him back and save the character. dc has to save the BATMAN franchise. and they shouldnt have made batman and robin all together. it was very wrong. it doesnt give batman or any of the criminaks justice. Very bad movie. Batman Begins was spot on and the Dark knight is going to be evn better. have faith in Nolan.

  4. MAELIFIC

OMG. Too little, too late I'm afraid. Michael Keaton IS Batman. PERIOD. (Christain Bale gets my vote for runner up though.)Joker....AGAIN??!!!?
A: Should have left out Bane in that HORRIFIC flop Batman and Robin.
B: Have Bane break his BACK (like the comics)
C: Introduce Azrael, and have him beat up Bane.
D: Batman and Azrael duke it out at the end of movie.

This Version of The Joker is the best one by far to me. Even better then Nicholson's version. His deranged and morbid looking face make him look even more evil and twisted. A real sense of psycho/terror is what this Joker brings! I cant wait for more images to come out.

This looks really good but Heath Ledger taking on the joker as a first villian role, i'll givbe him a chance. Doubt he will it pull it off like Jack Nicholsan, no one can lol. He don't really sound for the part taking on a big villianous role for ur first stake at the villian character.
Ethan Hawke looks kool as Harvey Dent though and suits the part. So far what will 2-face look like with the acid face, because lord joker looks messed and tacky in that close up pic that was released. Chris Nolan is trying to go for a more scarier joker feel when joker is not scary but psychotic, there is a difference.
But still ain't don't reckon any Batman script will match mine, it's a quadogy with the elements of the Batman comic in which only Tim Burton captured.
And Chris why u have to take the name to my script or who ever wrote the script, i bless u with my middle finger.

But yes please hurry up with this film, were dying from anti climax, but please don't get us so climaxed for a flopping super hero film juss like spiderman 3.

    P.S
i'm writing a script to my own version of
'A Nightmare On Elm St : The Beginning'
    which i've entitled
    'A Dream On Elm St'
I would like to grab people's ideas of what they might like to see in the movie. So if you have any grand and great ideas please send them to

Please be reminded all ideas are welcome and taken into consideration.
    Thanks
