I am a HUGE fan of the books and I am disappointed in what I saw from the trailer. Darren Shan did say that A LOT of changes were made for the movie. But this is ridiculous. The kid didn't ask to become a vampire. He had no choice. Cormac was made into a female for the film. And I hate who was chosen for Crepsley. Reilly is wrong for the part. In my mind I envisioned Dafoe as Crepsley before I even heard about a movie being made. Here he is playing Gavner who is supposed to be a big burly vampire. Ken Watanabe is wrong for the tall dude. And the kid looks too old for the main character. Salma Hayek was the only one casted right. I hate when Hollywood makes a lot of changes to good books. Hopefully someone smart will turn the 12 book series into a mini-series for cable so that it could be done the right way. And make it 2 episodes per book so that NOTHING is left out.

Don't get me wrong. If I didn't know it was based on a book series it would look interesting to me (which it does). But when you're a big fan of a book, comic, and/or videogame, it pisses you off when the movie version is the opposite. They turned the series into a kid friendly comedy.

At least the cast is good, and it looks funny. Far better looking than Twilight.

    "Like turn into a bat?"
    "No. That is bull."

Lmfao. This movie is going to be awesome, however, it already looks like they're going to be changing things. In the books, Darren didn't want to be a vampire. I hope they play it out the right way. Still one of my most anticipated for the year. I loved the books!
