Bradley Cooper Is the Flash? The Flash and Green Lantern 2 Scripts Due This December

Bradley Cooper is The Flash?
Bradley Cooper is The Flash?
After Green Lantern and Superman, The Flash is expected to be Warner Bros. and DC Comics next priority as far as feature films go. Deadline is reporting that a final draft for The Flash is being turned into Warner Bros. sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

No story details have been revealed at this time, but as previously reported, Green Lantern screenwriters Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green are penning this upcoming DC Comics adaptation, with Life as We Know It director Greg Berlanti contributing to the overall arc of the story being told. No official announcement has been made in regards to who will direct this upcoming big screen version of The Flash, but Deadline says its doubtful that Berlanti will helm the project.

An insider has stated, "He won't want to direct it because he kinda wants to do something in between size-wise first before attempting something that large. If Warner Bros does like the script and wants him to direct it...But that's a lot of ifs. And all of it is moot if they don't dig the script. Green Lantern wasn't real until the studio liked the draft."

Marc Guggenheim, Michael Green, and Greg Berlanti will also turn in their draft for Green Lantern 2 by Christmas time.

In related news, Moviehole has heard a rumor that The Hangover 2's Bradley Cooper is being considered for the lead role in The Flash. The actor was originally up for the role of Hal Jordan in Green Lantern, but lost out to Ryan Reynolds. It is said that Warner Bros. is very "keen" on Cooper, and that we should be hearing his name in relation to this project sometime soon.

The Flash is in development .

Green Lantern 2 is in development and stars Ryan Reynolds.

    addendum, It's wishful thinking, but Kate Beckinsale as Wonder Woman would be amazing

    Noooooo, No Cooper for the Flash. The Flash in the movies will be Barry. Barry is not the smart-aleck Wally West, so there's no room for an actor like Cooper. Here's my ideas for the runs here, keep in mind it considers the (somewhat) whole JL.

    Superman = Up for debate. Brandon Routh is good, but so is Tom Welling. I'd be happy with either.

    Green Lantern = Ryan Reynolds, he's a perfect fit.

    Flash = This may be out there, but what about Jared Leto, or an actor like him? Cooper just doesn't fit. Another suggestion is Peter Facinelli. I think he would be pretty good. Serious, soft spoken actor. Or Stephen Dorff.

    Batman = Christian Bale, but everyone involved in The Batman Franchise has said he's done after this run. If he has any more movies, just please don't let it be John Cena. I mean, did you see The Marine? Come on...

    Martian Manhunter = A VERY serious actor with a deep voice. I'm thinking.... Djimon Hounsou

    Aquaman = Chris Pine, Kellan Lutz, or Alan Ritchson (Aquaman from Smallville).

    Hawkman = Scott Speedman, Russell Crowe, or Colin Farrell, in that order

    Hawkgirl = Olivia Wilde

    Wonder Woman - Rachelle Lefevre or Odette Yustman. No teeny bopper crappy actress here. Wonder Woman is a serious character, and the actress needs to be able to portray that.

    Thoughts?

    Hahahahaha....hehehe..mmm...wait are you serious, Leo, really?!..ok, maybe, but no.

    watch this:
    Superman=Brandon Routh
    Wonder woman=Olivia Wilde
    Martian Manhunter=CGI(Lawrence Fishburne as voice)
    Flash=Bradley Cooper is perfect. But if this was a different universe, The Mime would go with
    @Daveactor7 and say Chris Evans.
    Batman=Christian Bale, hands down.
    Green Lantern=Ryan Reynolds or if they are going for John Stewart like in the cartoon networks
    version, The Mime would say either Michael Jai White or Boris Kodjoe.

    finally, AQUAMAN=Scott Speedman, how about that uh? How is it, how is it?

    Wonder woman-Olivia wilde
    Martian Manhunter- Djimon Hounsou
    Flash-Chris Evans (he fits for this role)
    Batman-Christian Bale
    Green Lantern-Ryan Reynolds

  10. I AM FRATSON

    I really like the idea of Cooper as FLash./ I always wanted SWS, but completely cool with Cooper in the role.

    @CBF - agree with the Kate Bosworth/story for returns. Ruined it. And a kid? Common...ALthough I do like Routh as SM. I like Spacey as LL as well. Story just sucked.

    @Narrator - I personally love Bale as BM. IDK how he would fit with the other characters as you have stated, but there are only a few actors I can even consider stepping in and playing a good Bruce Wayne/BM. (debate for another time).
    AM: Not necessary for the first, I do like the Eric Bana suggestion, esp if he has his hair as long as it was in Troy.
    MM: Fishburne because of his voice.
    WW: Love Wilde as being casted.
    Flash: I like Rosenbaum but I do not see him as the Flash. Cooper is a much better choice IMO.
    SM: I like Routh, just dont know if they will bring him back or not.
    GL: Reynolds (obv).

    @Cyn I hear you there. Kate Bosworth ruined the film for me as well, characters-wise, she was no successor to Margot Kidder and she was not Lois from the comics. Horrible casting on WB's part. On the other hand, the story ruined it for me as well. Lex with more Kryptonite he found? Superman has a son named Jason? From when he slept with Lois in Superman II? Ugh thx Singer for ruining that classic.

    @ejk1 You know your Justice League. I hope they announce Wonder Woman in December...that is, going by what they said that an announcement is coming in December regarding upcoming DC films. But we all know they don't deliver when they say that. It will be funny if they never mention that again and then December comes and nothing. Which is what I think will happen. Remember Comic-Con this past summer? Nothing.

  12. The Narrator: The Better Man

    @Dave, he's not a HORRIBLE actor.

    As for who to play my dream team... hmm..
    SM: Brandon Routh (I like him in the role)
    BM: Someone other than Bale. He's a great Bruce Wayne, but I wonder if he'd really fit well with the other characters. We'll see after Batman3.
    WW: Olivia Wilde
    GL: Ryan Reynolds
    Flash: Michael Rosenbaum
    MM: Laurence Fishbourne (as nominated by IUH)
    AM: I don't think they need him in the first feature film. But if they do, I'd go with a blonde Eric Bana. Think about it.

    I actually quite liked Brandon Routh as Superman. I thought he matched the comic superman perfectly and he's not a terrible actor. It was Kate Bosworth that ruined the film for me.

    I' be happy to see Bale, Reynolds, Cooper, Routh and (my personal vote) Odette Yustman as BM, GL, Flash and WW. I don't know anything about Aquaman or Martian Manhunter to be able to hazard a guess. If it's a dreamcast - Chris Hemsworth as Aquaman? Martian Manhunter - I dunno - Dwayne Johnson?

    @REAL, you would have three already nailed in Bale(Batman), Reynolds(GL), and Cooper(Flash). They would need to get Superman(Routh is not a definite) and Wonder Woman next, and then decide on either Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, or both to fill out the team.

    @CBF, I guess this is symbolic of a possible chauvinistic attitude coming from Warner. Over the weekend, you said that WB will no longer produce animated films with female leads, and now the continuing ignorance of WW. It's a shame that WB does not go all out for its legendary characters.

    While I am happy that The Flash is moving forward, I am getting more and more peeved that WB keeps sweeping Wonder Woman under the rug, never to be heard of again. I guess I will wait and see what they announce in December about upcoming DC movies, but WW better be the next one after all this. She's the THIRD highest character on the DC roster, come on WB.
