Jennifer Lawrence joins Serena
Academy award winner Susanne Bier has taken directorial duties over from Darren Aronofsky. Based on the 2008 novel of the same name by Ron Rash, Christopher Kyle (K-19: The Widowmaker; The Weight of Water) will pen the screenplay.
The story takes place in 1929, and follows a newlywed couple attempting to start a timber empire. Things turn ugly when the wife learns she can't have children, thus setting out to destroy her husband's illegitimate son.
Serena will begin shooting in the coming weeks.
Serena comes to theaters in 2014 and stars Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence. The film is directed by Susanne Bier.
