According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brad Silberling is set to follow up his Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events with the comedy Juno. The helmer is in final negotiations with Mandate Pictures to direct the film, which is described as an acerbic comedy about a teenage girl faced with an unplanned pregnancy.

Minneapolis-based journalist and author Diablo Cody penned the screenplay. "Brad has amassed a list of truly impressive film credits as a director, many of which deftly explore humor in very complex and sometimes uncomfortable situations," Mandate head of production Nathan Kahane said. "We are very excited to have him bringing his considerable talent to Diablo's wonderfully original screenplay."
