Brad Pitt offered the lead role in All You Need Is Kill
All You Need Is Kill had previously been put on hold, since Doug Liman was planning to direct Luna for Paramount. However, the studio recently decided to pull the plug on Luna, which frees up Doug Liman to direct All You Need Is Kill. Warner Bros. then offered the lead role to Brad Pitt. It isn't known if he will accept the offer or not yet.
All You Need Is Kill is based on the Japanese Manga by Hiroshi Sakurazaka, which centers on a soldier killed in battle while fighting an intergalactic alien war. Instead of heading to the afterlife, he is resurrected to the day before his death, each and every day. Dante Harper wrote the screenplay adaptation.
No production schedule was given for All You Need Is Kill.
We Mortals Are comes to theaters in 2013 and stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt. The film is directed by Doug Liman.

So I don't know if this is just me, but, um, shouldn't this be a japanese film? Or at least be reaching for a japanese actor or whatnot?
