@mcleve02 I can see that probably happening too, especially given what @huntsman said about Dredd not being in very many theaters. The closest theater, that is actually playing it is an hour away for me.
@renodc Most viewers aren't idiots, it's just that Judge Dredd has been poorly-represented in mass media. Stallone kind of ruined it for casual audiences.
I'm sure that isn't accurate. Dredd isn't in a lot of theaters, doesn't have the mass appeal and is rated R. It's either going to be House at the End of the Street, Trouble with the Curve or End of Watch.
As much as I would love to see Dredd blow up the box office this weekend, I just think the majority of movie goers are idiots and won't give Dredd a second thought mainly because there isn't enough major star power there to draw their small little pop culture driven minds.
@mcleve02 Oddly enough, box office mojo has different predictions, much lower:
1. Trouble with the Curve - $18.7 million 2. House at the End of the Street - $14.5 million 3. End of Watch - $13.3 million 4. Dredd - $12.6 million 5. Finding Nemo 3D - $9.5 million (-43%) 6. Resident Evil 5 - $8.2 million (-61%) 7. The Master - $4.2 million
I think it is going to take more money from Trouble with the Curve and End of Watch than that... I see Dredd dominating a little bit more... but that is just me

@ghostman -- "Trouble with the Curve" looked okay, but yeah, that's a way of putting it.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx I don't get it, were you expecting Trouble with the Curve to be good and End of Watch to be bad?

@renodc -- Most movie-goers could be be considered idiots, but it has nothing to do with the dismay of Dredd 3D. The movie looks awful.
