Wow, not very good numbers for the weekend for Spidey, even with the excellent buzz it's been getting. I saw it Friday, and was well entertained.

Just got back from watching spiderman, i have to admit, it was a great film in alot of ways even tho, going in i already knew what was gonna happen, how things would pick up or look since i already seen the first film. But this1 felt sooo fresh, and like it could stand on its own two feet, there was something about it that i dunno.. it was just good, maybe cause it played out serious and not that laugh out loud thing like the last 3. So yea im ready for part2. loved the cast, even tho i hated their roles back when the word got out that they would be rebooting it.

I hope Savages makes some good money too though, I thought it was fantastic, Benicio del Toro steals every scene he's in, Salma Hayek was great, and Taylor Kitsch proved he can handle a lead role perfectly.

@c-a-r-t-m-a-n Agreed, I got to see it twice, and the second time without IMAX just wasn't the same... Still an awesome movie though!

Frankly I was very surprised to read that the budget for The Amazing Spider Man was 230 million dollars. Now that is downright crazy.

  11. Ghostman

Thought it would earn some more like around the 100mil dollar range, still impressive for a re-boot. Might try and see this next week.

wow $140 million in 6 days is not a good take in for Spiderman, be lucky to scratch at $300 million domestically with Batman coming

  18. Bawnian©-Dexeus

@slysnide Actually, 230 was the amount to make the movie. Add another 75 for marketing.

A bit late on the reporting, huh movieweb? It'll take all the cash it could get before the behemoth bat comes to town in two weeks.

  20. Bawnian©-Dexeus

@slysnide Hopefully it includes marketing. Least at the pace it's going, it should end up with a good domestic tally with a chunk at the international.

  21. slysnide

@bawnian-dexeus: Agreed. $230mil doesn't sound right, but that also includes marketing costs. It's already made $341.6mil.
