Sound argument, @XxNickTheFilmCriticXx. I totally agree with your opinions and specifically this quote, which, IMO, summed it up best:

"A couple of noticeable dents on the hood doesn't qualify as "crap".

i knew madagascar would come in first why? children......and as for promtheus i saw that instead and it wasnt what i expected at all, i mean dont get me wrong the special effects were amazing, and the acting from michael fassbender was worth the film but it dragged big time and confusing at times

@bawnian-dexeus -- Of course. I was just really interested if he would've gone the "Transformers" route like I expected him to.

@bawnian-dexeus -- The guy I was debating with? Cartman? I didn't blatantly ask him what movies he liked, but I implied it - considering most people will won't tell you "It's a good/great movie, but I didn't like it".

I saw "Prometheus"! One Word: Dull!!! It was like watching paint dry on the wall. I was very disappointed. A friend who saw the film with me, stated it felt like James Cameron ripped off an episode of "Stargate".

    My Final Rating: C-

@bawnian-dexeus -- Ha ha, same here. I'm just trying to acknowledge them, so that my opinion doesn't appear biased and short-sighted.

@c-a-r-t-m-a-n -- Just because a movie asks questions, doesn't mean it's going to answer them. You're new to this, aren't you? Who knows!? Maybe it's because they "can", or they were doing us a favor. Here's a couple of links, one of which supports my latter reasoning.

It's very average!?!? What movies do you consider bad, average, above-average, good, great, and outstanding? One title per rank, please. Regardless, I've seen enough movies to know that "Prometheus" isn't average. Yes, it offered close to nothing new to the genre, and that will serve as a factor in rating it, but execution is also a factor. "In Time" and "Immortals" were "very average movies".

Admit this much; you expected an epic.

It's far from "total crap", my friend. A couple of noticeable dents on the hood doesn't qualify as "crap".

@c-a-r-t-m-a-n In my review I have some theories written down to some fo your questions. We at least know they come from somewhere else in the galaxy, we come from their blood, and they were pissed off at us because of how we turned out asa species. Just to answer a few

I just saw the box office actuals today, Prometheus made $1 million more than originally estimated meaning obviously it made a whopping $51 million, I know thats not big news or anything, but thats good for me. It made the exact same amount money as Angelina Jolie's Wanted had made in its opening weekend 4 years ago. Now I know it will crack over $100 million.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx - now dont get excited and talk all crap that is not related to what I have asked earlier... say something that is not related to what I have asked - not about IMAX and VISUALS (did the movie answer the Qs is supposed to answer?) - reply to all my Qs..... as I have already accepted the movie is visually stunning and awesome acting - apart from those 2 its a total crap...

  21. Cartman

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx - ok now you have clearly said "I dont know what i am talking about?!" let me see what you are gonna talk clearly...

Mr.RS said the movie is about "1) who we are? 2) who created us? 3) who created them? 4) where do they come from?" - now that you have clearly understood the movie can u help me in understanding it?! the movie didn answer any of the questions however it managed to create more unsolved Qs for eg: 5) why is the last engineer aka space jockey (as per the movie who created us) wants to destroy us? 6) why doz he kill the entire crew without any reason? 7) why is he angry on humans?

Sir I have already said the movie is visually brilliant and thats it,.. its not epic or even good - its a very avg movie,...

@bawnian-dexeus -- Would "Come at me, bro!" suffice? Either way, I doubt he'll reply. Is there anything you would add/take away from my post?

    11 months agoby @XxNickTheFilmCriticXxFlag

  25. Nicholaus XX

@c-a-r-t-m-a-n -- You clearly don't know what you're talking about. "Prometheus" had some obvious flaws, but if you saw it in IMAX 3D, you would know the gripping experience is something to be appreciated. Not only that, but the pros made the cons somewhat tolerable. Great - nearly outstanding - performances, gorgeous visuals/cinematography, an intriguing premise, good direction and entertainment. If they worked on the script, and told the screenwriter to take a hike(and hired Neill Blomkamp and Terri Tatchell instead), the movie would've been great/outstanding.

You expected an epic, and got a good movie instead. Disappointing, much?

Considering Prometheus overall cost 180 million to produce and market, it should make it all back within next week and make some good profits

  28. Cheetoboy

@JuniorRoberts I hope it tops Madagascar3 thi weekend as well. @dess its going to crack over $100 million, the movie has already hit $50 million and most of the time a movie always does twice its opening weekend if not more, over all its box office run. I mean even if the Prometheus were to drop by more than 60% this weekend coming up, it would still at the end of its run crack $100 million.
