Bleach adaptation moves forward at Warner Bros.
Warner Bros. is moving forward with its manga adaptation Bleach, hiring Wrath of the Titans writer Dan Mazeau to pen the script.

We first reported on this project back in March 2010, when Warner Bros. picked up the rights to Tite Kubo's manga. The story centers on a teenage boy named Ichigo, who has the ability to see ghosts. When his family is attacked by a "Hollow," an evil lost soul, Ichigo dedicates his life to protecting the innocent and helping the Hollows find their way.

Actor Masi Oka (Heroes) will produce with Peter Segal, Michael Ewing, and VIZ Media. Masi Oka, who also starred in Peter Segal's Get Smart, first brought the project to Peter Segal's Callahan Filmworks.

It is also said that Peter Segal may end up directing Bleach, although he is only currently attached as a producer.

Bleach is in development .

Ending the movie at the Grand Fisher fight is NOT the way to go i believe. and Bleach wont be another DBZ evolution, just because its storyline isn't as hard to recreate. Don't be worried about Naruto yet i doubt they would try doing that anime next, id say to possibly worry about Inuyasha. it seems like it would be next on the chopping block, or Possibly one of the Gundam Series considering all the Robot hype from Transformers..... Now the movie should start off with Ichigo meeting Rukia and gaining his powers at about 10 - 15 minutes in which gives the first battle scene. then a couple random hollow killings and probably meet some of his friends like Orihime and Chad. At about 35 - 40 minutes in start the Grand Fisher fight where you learn it killed his mother and all that good stuff (Possibly introducing Urahara slightly at the end)... after that introduce Uryu and his hate of the soul reapers then have the epic battle of the movie with Ichigo and Uryu fighting the wave of hollows. Here it would be easy to tweak the story and just have Chad and Orihime gain their powers during this fight so they can help their friend Ichigo fight off the Hollows. Then End that fight with Ichigo Taking down the Menos Grande Showing his Potential and losing control... then have thing start coming to a close with Ichigo being happy with his new friends and power relaxed when he finds The note Rukia leaves him and chases after her. then have the very small fight between him and Renji, then he gets taken out by Byakuya destroying his Zanpakuto and Byakuya, Renji, and Rukia Leave through the soul gate. (and just for S&G dont show Byakuya's face, have his back turned to Ichigo at all times to simulate how much better Byakuya believes he. if anything just show a sideways glance as the soul gate closes.) Then End with Urahara coming up to the Powerless Injured Ichigo Lying in a small pool of his own blood. And Urahara tells him he can save him and bring his powers back to him stronger then before if Ichigo truely believes he can save Rukia. Then possibly during the credits show the hollow personality of Ichigo laughing with the hollow mask slowly appearing on its face. They have to REMEMBER to have the CORRECT VERSION OF HIS SWORD, the one he gets from rukia not his actual sword. END MOVIE 1. it would not only make fans happy to see the movie follow the storyline but it would be a totally awesome movie. Well that was fun if anyone would like to know how i think the second movie i will gladly post it here.

If this becomes like DBZ evolution movie then I will avoid it at all costs. DBZ was so far away from the story that it ruined the very image for DBZ for me. I hope that if this movie is made they are at least faithful to the source manga.

The Mime hates to see this project fall apart. Sh#t like this most likely won't work out. It could work its just that no one wants to see another "The Last Airbender."

@bawnian-dexeus Don't know. But it's WB, so you know the story: If it ain't Batman, it has a reduced chance to succeed.

@ejk1 Indeed. Why can't they start well by hiring Steve Kloves and Michael Goldenberg ?

@bawnian-dexeus They can avoid a lot of problems if they use a blueprint similar to what I laid out. If they try to incorporate what I outlined as the third film into the first, it will be Dragonball Evolution all over again.

@ejk1 And their first mistake is getting a newbie writer.

This is what I wrote two years ago. I still stand by every word.

"I love Bleach, but it's no where not even close to the greatest animes. That title belongs to either Cowboy Bebop or Neon Genesis Evangelion. Bleach has too many filler episodes to ever be called great. As far as this movie series, they have to decide on the right casting, especially if they end up Americanizing the story. Also, don't cannibalize the story the way the writers of Dragonball did. The most important thing they must do is pace it correctly. Under no circ*mstances should Aizen be in the first movie. The first movie should start with Ichigo and Rukia's first meeting, and end with the Grand Fisher fight(skipping some plots such as Orihime's brother and Don Kanonji). This way we get a sense of the impending trouble that Rukia and Ichigo are going to be in soon. Second movie starts when Byakuya and Renji come for Rukia. Where this movie will end is crucial. The impulse will be end it with Aizen's betrayal and escape, but by doing this, his faked death and subsequent resurrection could end up having very little impact on the story. They may want to consider ending it with Aizen's "death" and the fight between Ichigo and Kenpachi. This way, the emotional impact of Aizen's "death" can be felt, setting up those moviegoers not familiar with the anime or manga for what will happen in the third movie. It would also allow the movie to do the fights better. Ichigo would have two huge fights(Renji and Kenpachi) instead of three and a half(it wasn't much of a fight against Aizen). From this point the third movie could pick up with Ichigo training for Bankai, and end with the aftermath of the fight with Aizen. There is more than enough material in this section, and it allow Aizen to take center stage as he becomes one of the three or four greatest villains ever. For the fourth movie, entirely skip the Bounts and go straight to the Arrancar's. The Bount's are boring fodder from filler episodes that were unlikeable. On the other hand, the Arrancar's had charisma, especially Grimmjow and Ulquiorra. They could get three to four more movies out of the Arrancar arc as long as they continue to pace it well."
