Blade Series to Debut in June

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Spike TV has sunk its teeth into Blade with a pickup marking the first scripted series for the cable network. Spike TV has ordered a total of 13 hours, including the previously announced two-hour pilot/original movie, with a premiere date set for June.

Blade, produced by New Line Television, is based on the Marvel Entertainment superhero -- a half-man, half-vampire who fights a shadowy underworld of vampires who want to destroy the human race -- and is being adapted from the film trilogy starring Wesley Snipes.

Blade was released August 19th, 1998 and stars Wesley Snipes, Stephen Dorff, Kris Kristofferson, N'Bushe Wright, Donal Logue, Udo Kier, Arly Jover, Traci Lords. The film is directed by Stephen Norrington.
