The life of legendary actor and martial artist Bruce Lee will be explored once again on the silver screen with Birth of the Dragon. However, this is not a remake of Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story or any other biopic, using a little-known story as a "jumping-off point" for a broader tale.

Christopher Wilkinson and Stephen J. Rivele are writing the script that is based on the real-life 1965 fight between Bruce Lee and kung fu master Wong Jack Man in San Francisco. The no holds barred fight took place at a time when San Francisco's Chinatown district was controlled by the Chinese Triad gangs. The script will begin with this battle, then follow both men as they team up to take on a horde of gangsters.

Bill Block is producing for QED International, alongside Groundswell's Michael London and writers Christopher Wilkinson and Stephen J. Rivele. Here's what Michael London had to say about the story.

"Stephen J. Rivele and Christopher Wilkinson have taken a little-known chapter in the life of Bruce Lee and used it as a jumping-off point for a bold, exciting story about the making of an international legend."

Christopher Wilkinson and Stephen J. Rivele are essentially biopic specialists, receiving an Oscar nomination for their Nixon screenplay, and writing Ali and Copying Beethoven. The writers also have the Untitled Freddie Mercury Biopic set up at GK Films, which has Sacha Baron Cohen attached to star and Stephen Frears set to direct.

Birth of the Dragon comes to theaters in 2015.

So, they take a real-life event and then add a whole different, fictional timeline to it for sensationalism? Stupid, stupid, stupid. This is why history gets warped and sheeple get duped into thinking things happened that didn't without bothering to get the real story. Hollywood f's up historical stories WAY too much. And messing with an icon like Bruce Lee is just plain wrong. Taking a little liberty's one thing but adding a whole movie's worth that never happened?
