The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has confirmed Billy Crystal as the host, which will mark his 10th time as The Academy Awards emcee. Brian Grazer stepped in as producer of the telecast yesterday, taking over for Brett Ratner, who resigned after making homophobic remarks last weekend. Eddie Murphy stepped down as Oscar host a day after Brett Ratner resigned.
The Academy Awards episode 84.1, "84th Annual Academy Awards" stars Angelina Jolie, Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper, Will Ferrell, Ben Stiller, Zach Galifianakis.

Honestly, Crystal is the only one who should ever host the Oscars. All others pale in comparison. He's genuinely funny and entertaining, quick with ad libs, and doesn't cause any controversy. Glad to see him back.
