Billy Crudup to Don J. Edgar Hoover's Wig in Public Enemies

Michael Mann has found his J. Edgar Hoover in Billy Crudup. That's right, according to Variety, the actor will be playing the famous FBI director in Mann's upcoming crime thriller Public Enemies.

Johnny Depp has already signed on to play John Dillinger in the Universal Pictures film. Stephen Lang recently came aboard the project to play Winstead, the leader of the Texas Rangers who joins the manhunt for John Dillinger and his gang. Christian Bale and Marion Cotillard will also be feature in the film.

Public Enemies will begin filming sometime this spring.

Public Enemies was released July 1st, 2009 and stars James Russo, David Wenham, Christian Stolte, Jason Clarke, Johnny Depp, John Judd, Stephen Dorff, Michael Vieau. The film is directed by Michael Mann.
