Billy Bob Thornton has joined the cast of The Informers, which is based on a number of short stories from Bret Easton Ellis. According to Variety, Kim Basinger will also appear in the ensemble drama.

Other cast members include Brandon Routh, Austin Nichols, Ashley Olsen, John Foster and Lou Pucci. The narrative takes place over the course of a week in 1983. Seven storylines intertwine in this Gregor Jordan directed character piece. Plot points revolve around a movie executive, a rock star, a vampire, and a couple of morally challenged couples.

Shooting starts this October in Los Angeles, Uruguay and Buenos Aires.
