The film is an adaptation of a graphic novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka that centers a soldier (Tom Cruise), who is fighting an alien war. He is forced to relive his death in a continual time loop becoming a better soldier with each pass. Bill Paxton will portray the soldier's demanding platoon leader.
Doug Liman is directing from a script by Dante Harper and Joby Harold. Erwin Stoff, Tom Lassally and Jason Hoffs of 3 Arts Entertainment are producing.
Bill Paxton was most recently seen playing Randall McCoy in History's Hatfields & McCoys, and as John Kane in Steven Soderbergh's action film Haywire.
Production begins later this fall in London.
Edge of Tomorrow comes to theaters June 6th, 2014 and stars Tom Cruise, Emily Blunt, Charlotte Riley, Bill Paxton, Jonas Armstrong, Tony Way, Kick Gurry, Franz Drameh. The film is directed by Doug Liman.
