Variety reports that Antonio Banderas and Bill Paxton are joining the cast of Steven Soderbergh's Knockout. They will star opposite martial arts champ Gina Carano.

Ewan McGregor and Michael Fassbender are also in the cast.

Relativity Media is financing and Lionsgate is distributing Knockout domestically and representing the film internationally.

Knockout is the screen debut of Carano. She will play a high level private security operative who gets convinced that she's been betrayed by her boss and the government. She then goes on the run to prove that her suspicions are true.

Paxton is going to portray her father and Banderas will play a foreign operative that is drawn into her mission of revenge.

Lem Dobbs (The Limey) wrote the screenplay.

Haywire was released January 20th, 2012 and stars Channing Tatum, Ewan McGregor, Michael Fassbender, Michael Douglas, Antonio Banderas, Bill Paxton, Michael Angarano, Mathieu Kassovitz. The film is directed by Steven Soderbergh.

    Bill Paxton is ok, he's had a few good roles, he got killed early on in Terminator and he looked pretty funny in a mohawk. Aliens he was hilarious, smart ass goof ball again fun to watch him die, i see a trend here

    A girl lead actor, wow. But this has something I'd already saw which was played by a male actor... BTW, nice director, great cast and nice film genre, surely a big drama film on its release. Good luck!
