Brandon T. Jackson joins the Beverly Hills Cop TV series
We reported last month that CBS issued a pilot commitment for the series which will center on the younger Foley, a Beverly Hills police officer trying to make a name for himself in the shadow of his legendary father. Eddie Murphy will star in the pilot as Axel Foley, who is now the chief of police in Detroit. If the show gets picked up, Eddie Murphy will stay on in a recurring role.
Shawn Ryan (The Shield) wrote the pilot script and will executive produce alongside Eddie Murphy and Marney Hochman. If the show lands a series commitment, Shawn Ryan will serve as showrunner on both this series and his new ABC show Last Resort. Paramount Pictures, which distributed the Beverly Hills Cop movies, will also own a portion of the series.
No production schedule was given for the pilot at this time.
Beverly Hills Cop was released December 5th, 1984 and stars Eddie Murphy, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Lisa Eilbacher, Ronny Cox, Steven Berkoff, James Russo, Jonathan Banks. The film is directed by Martin Brest.

The bottom line is that you would actually have to aim for and try to make this show worse than BHC 3, so after that disaster: why not? I'm willing to give it a shot if it comes to broadcast.

Pretty good pick...but Im beyond sure the show will bail. It'll be nothing like the movie, it'll be watered down comedy (like most sitcoms) the action will be dismal, and people are just in "remake fatigue" these days. Hollywood is so pitiful
