Benedict Cumberbatch talks Star Trek 2
The Star Trek 2 villain's identity still hasn't been revealed, as J.J. Abrams is notorious for keeping such secrets on lockdown as long as possible. If actor Benedict Cumberbatch has his way, he'd like his character to remain a mystery leading all the way up to opening day.
The actor is thrilled to be a part of this timeless franchise. Though, he is less than thrilled with fans attempting to learn all of the secrets before even one frame of film has been shot.
"It's a great job to get, and I'm thrilled. I can tell you nothing. There's a lawyer standing here saying that I can't say anything. You are like kids who want to eat the entire box of chocolates. There should be some magic and enigma. If we can hold it back, you will have more to look forward to. I'm hugely, hugely excited and I'm very, very flattered. I'm very, very excited...I'm just getting my head around the fact that it's happened. If you'll forgive me, I'll pass on (telling you any more). But, my headline is that I'm over the moon."
Star Trek 2 is shooting soon. As most of the movie will be shot on a studio lot away from the prying eyes of fans and paparazzi alike, you can expect a lack of spy photos on this sequel. We'll only be seeing what J.J. Abrams wants us to see. Which is actually quite refreshing for a change.
Star Trek 2 comes to theaters May 17th, 2013 and stars Zoe Saldana, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg, Karl Urban, John Cho. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

So far as I recall, Ricardo Montalban played the villain in Star Trek 2. I'm looking forward to seeing Benedict C*mberbatch as the villain in Star Trek 12.
