Benedict Cumberbatch joins untitled biopic on The Beatles manager Brian Epstein
Todd Graff wrote the screenplay, which focuses on the manager's entire life, rather than a story about The Beatles from his perspective. Brian Epstein signed the iconic band back in 1961, launching them to international superstar status. Behind closed doors, he was a closet homosexual and battled addictions with drugs and gambling. He died in 1967.
Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin, Push) will direct, with Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman producing. Paul McGuigan also directed Benedict Cumberbatch in four out of the six episodes of the hit BBC series Sherlock. No production schedule was given.
