Ben Foster and Donald Sutherland Join The Mechanic

It seems Jason Statham has found his new apprentice and father for his upcoming film role. According to Variety, Ben Foster and Donald Sutherland have been set to star in The Mechanic.

Foster will portray Steve McKenna, who becomes the apprentice to Statham's hitman character, while Sutherland will play Statham's father, who is also is professional handler.

Simon West is directing the film, which was said to start filming in New Orleans in the next few weeks.

The Mechanic was released January 28th, 2011 and stars Jason Statham, Ben Foster, Tony Goldwyn, Donald Sutherland, Jeff Chase, Mini Anden, James Logan, Eddie J. Fernandez. The film is directed by Simon West.

    err, what do you have against Statham. He kicks ass! And he's f**king cut like a chisel. Not like these other action guys, who fudge the muscle. He is the coolest action star ever. I like everything he's in. And Donald Sutherland is an old hack. His acting (if you can call it that) is unpalatable. I like him in some things. He was good in The Italian Job, but in the same note, Statham was excellent! Statham (Handsome Rob) was even cooler than Wahlberg!

    And I just saw Death Race. Cool as Hell!

    ben foster is pretty decent, i agree, but do you know who i friggin' love? donald sutherland.

    jason statham on the other hand i could live without, but hey, bruce willis is getting old and we need a new action hero, so statham will have to do until we find someone else.

    Ben Foster in my opinion is a phenomenal actor his portrayal of good and bad guys are great. first role i ever saw him was in Bang Bang Your Dead and after that amazing performance every other one to follow has been brilliant
