Ben Cross has been cast as Sarek, the Vulcan father of Spock in the upcoming Star Trek feature film, according to StarTrek.com.

He will be paired with Winona Ryder, portraying Spock's human mother Amanda Grayson. The young Spock will be played by Zachary Quinto.

Cross played Harold Abrahams in the Academy Award-winning 1981 film Chariots of Fire. He will be seen in the upcoming "Hero Wanted" with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Ray Liotta.

J.J. Abram's Star Trek arrives in theatres on Dec 25th, 2008.

Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.
