Because I Said So Rules the Sales Charts

Movie PictureIt was an interesting week on the sales and rental charts.

In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Universal's Because I Said So was No. 1 on the Nielsen VideoScan First Alert sales chart. Holding strong for the third week in a row on Home Media Magazine's rental chart was Fox Home Entertainment's Night at the Museum.

In sales, Warner Bros. saw Music and Lyrics come in at No. 2 and in rentals it placed in the No. 5 position.

Sony saw Catch and Release come in at the No. 5 spot in sales, while it placed at No. 7 in rentals. Paramount watched Dreamgirls dance to the No. 3 spot in sales. (It had been No. 1 last week).

Looking at high definition titles...

It seems that "62% of the discs purchased by consumers for the week ending May 13 were Blu-ray Disc, while 38% were HD DVD."

Warner Bros. saw their title Planet Earth: The Complete Collection be "the top seller on all three HD disc charts: Blu-ray, HD DVD and blended."

Night at the Museum was released December 22nd, 2006 and stars Ben Stiller, Carla Gugino, Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Bill Cobbs, Jake Cherry, Ricky Gervais, Robin Williams. The film is directed by Shawn Levy.
