Warner Bros. reportedly developing live-action Batman/Superman movie
The studio is reportedly trying to convince Christian Bale to return in one last performance as Bruce Wayne, while the new Man of Steel, Henry Cavill, will star as Superman. If Christian Bale declines to return, the studio will seek out a new actor to portray Batman.
It is said that two separate versions are being crafted, one where Batman mentors an up-and-coming Superman, and another where Superman mentors Batman. It isn't known if there are screenwriters attached at this time.
The project is in very early stages of development, and they still plan on moving forward with The Flash and Justice League of America before this untitled endeavor. Warner Bros. also plans on rebooting the Batman franchise after The Dark Knight Rises, which will be the last adventure with star Christian Bale and director Christopher Nolan.

The JLA flick should come after this one imo. Bale should hang around for this.

Too bad they haven't managed to get a Wonder Woman project off the ground. A Trinity movie would be pretty rad. Who knows, maybe Nicholas Winding Refn will get that Christina Hendricks Wonder Woman movie he's been wanting and we'll get a proper DC film universe.

I just realized something here just now, which is that now that this article has mentioned about Warner Bros studios secretly making this Batman/Superman movie, well now it isn't so secret any more now is it ? Considering that this article has just revealed it !

Nolans series is too far off his own, but to reboot that soon is Ludicrous and i want WARNER BROS. to burn for that!

For the next decade or so, I have no interest in any Batman film or any kind of Batman reboot without the heavy involvement of Chris Nolan.
Pass.

Its because Nolan nor Bale intend to continue the franchise in their lead roles, and Nolan's Batman story was always intended as a beginning fall and rise story arc, and that's all it was ever intended to be.

@Fry-3000 the green lantern was a way better film than i expected being a green lantern fan i was very pleased with the final product although there was a little cheesiness to it. it was still an overall great film and flash will probabaly be just as good.

@ejk1 Can't believe it's that hard to follow the source material. Marvel's cinematic universe has done well in doing so, dunno why they have to come up with something new

A superman and a batman team up isn't necessary. I liked the animated crossovers, but Warner Bros needs to stop with these ideas of involving the nolan universe. Warner bros needs to first make the superman, flash, wonder woman, etc. Then last up they can do a batman reboot as the last film before jla begins.

@ejk1 very good points. I agree that making a mentor movie is not a good idea. Superman and Batman both stand for justice but they both respect each others method of delivering justice. I'm sure this mentor scenario will never play out.

First off, they have totally different ideologies about what makes a superhero. They use different methods. To have one mentor the other is doing a minor disservice to the mentor, but an undeniably huge disservice to the pupil. Making one or the other the pupil basically says "you aren't the best" which would start arguments among fans. If they wanted to do this right, they would have these two meeting for the first time because of a diabolical plot (one where Ra's and Lex team up comes to mind). We would see their differences, a measurable amount of tension, etc., before they can find an acceptable way to deal with each other and take down the villain(s). But of course, WB probably won't do this, and we'll be stuck with sh*t.

Superheros are getting old! ...
I'm sorry but to already start thinking of putting Henry Cavill in another Superman...(superhero) based film is a little premature ...I mean Brandon Routh just stank as Superman......his career has never been the same since!
