Batman franchise reboot might be introduced in Justice League
Today, we have some industry insider news that suggests this new Untitled Batman Reboot franchise will be launched by the upcoming Justice League of America movie. The hope is that Bruce Wayne's next big screen incarnation ties into DC's overall cinematic arc.
The Justice League movie is said to be planned as Warner Bros. and DC's next big comic book tent pole after Man of Steel, with the winds pointing towards Henry Cavill's Superman as the leader of the group.
Batman on Film, a trusted source on all things happening in the Batman universe, brings us this news. Here's what they had to say.
"Said reboot will come after the JL film, not before. Therefore, the new cinematic Batman will be introduced in the JL film as opposed to a solo film. This would, according to my industry "FOBOF," assure the new Batman film series will be part of a "DC Cinematic Universe."
What do you Batfans think of this news? Are you happy to see Batman become a player in this wider ranging universe? Or would you rather see another visionary director such as Christopher Nolan tackle the material?
One good thing to come out of this is that we won't likely be treated to another boring origin movie.
Untitled Batman Reboot comes to theaters in 2015.

@youngrizo You mean the next 1. If i remember correctly, Terry Rossio mentioned on a forum on his website, that Pirates 6 might not happen.

Why people crying bout remaking Batman as if Nolan's Batman was expected to be the last Batman is beyond me.What did you people think was going to happen?

@youngrizo Yes I agree with those characters, but definitely need something to make it happen... leading into the film... I just feel like it would help get them there and also give them more time to get everything "not rushed."

Or would you rather see another visionary director such as Christopher Nolan tackle the material?
NO because to try and reduce his style into every other singular feature so it pans out with his aura and tone would not be creativly nuanced for other directos- it all needs to sink into the same genre and Nolans doesnt fit with nay other superhero rnak- as hes said its done- dusted- leave it be! I for one it is brave to make JLOA and i am currently writing a forum on the matter which wioll be posted on here for all to join in the discussion!

This is a very, very, very bad idea I'd rather have a nightwing movie with Joseph Gordon Levitt as the main character that takes place after the events of TDRK, but also as a standalone story that will probably lead to the rumored Batman 4, as nightwing becomes the new Dark Knight. But that's just me....or is it.

They don't really have to do it the way Marvel did, the beauty of ensemble films is you can make great stories out of the great characters.
You don't need to introduce every single hero in a stand alone film. Characters like Flash, Martian manhunter, liely even Wonderwoman don't need whole origin stories and things of that nature.
You could do a great trilogy that unites all these characters to face great threats and one main story arc leading to a final villain. Lord of the Rings is a great example of a trilogy that did so while giving all the major characters more than enough focus to make it epic, grand and beautiful to no end.

Is it an actual reboot or should they call is a re-direction? All they need is new stories and maybe tie in links to justice. But not a reboot( getting sick of that word). After total recall you'd think theyd learn.

@rudy
With what you stated, do you mean what Marvel did with the avengers line up, or the overall decade of films Marvel produced?
I think maybe their advantage against DC was that they appealed to a broader audience. If you think about it, the best target audience is children. Characters like the Hulk and Spider-man are going to bring in more children and families than say the Dark Knight films which were darker and more adult; and bottomline, Marvel just out produced DC in the number of films within the past decade. Marvel has become a household brand in a sense.

This may be coming from an ignorant stand point, but the Hollywood industry seems to be making all the wrong moves. I understand that it's about the money, it's about the money they get back from what they put in. To me it seems like the pictures that do better are those with less Special effects and more dramatic storytelling. If I were to handle any of these decisions for what gets made, I wouldn't go big but start small with these characters and then build on their stories with each picture. Less is more in some cases, and Hollywood must think going big is the answer but they're wrong. Then again, if a Special effects extravaganza with no regard for serious story telling is what sells at the box office then the suits of Hollywood know what they're doing

Why are DC movies usually bad? I wonder what Marvel did that DC didn't that gave them an edge.

To speak on the Green Lantern Franchise; I think it has potential. Hopefully they can improve on the first one with a damn good sequel and finish off with making the franchise a great trilogy.

@youngrizo
I agree with you completely. My hope to see bale in the team was just wishful thinking. I loved Nolan's vision of Batman. Granted I think if you take a comic world and paint it with too much realism it can make a man who where's a bat suit look kind of goofy, not to mention the bat voice. Nonetheless I loved the trilogy and to be honest it's part of the reason I am such a fan of the Batman character. But just to keep my hopes alive, it would be interesting to see the DC universe as a place where the Government covers up any supernatural or extraterrestrial activity. Therefore the reason we have no mention of any super human activity in Nolan's series is because it's being kept under wraps at the behest of political forces.

The problem with the whole batman reboot is that who is going to be the next batman so far Christian Bale tops my list hope he comes back for one more time (in my opinion)

@bawnian-dexeus I agree with the starting as Batman... Not even give an origin or anything like that... have whatever is happening go down in Gotham and Batman is already Batman...

Why continue to bring up the "Nolan's Batman can't be tied in to JLA"? be it me I would just throw him in there as just being Batman and he get's caught in the middle of an invasion. Simple as that if you ask me. If it's a reboot, than start with Bruce already as Batman with a history of past criminal confrontations

I want a great director who can capture the beautiful action the Batman does in Gotham City and to start the film after JLA, they can set up something in the movie to carry on into the reboot, to keep it in the DC Universe

@Michael-Kolesik well technically... they are original first edition Batman when he was straight realism for the first few editions... but the point that everyone is making is the time frame... 2015... release of JLA when they haven't even done or announced or even began to do the other solo films... I agree that batman should be done AFTER JLA, but they should get the story right and have it make sense... suck up their pride and approach this the same way Marvel did
