High schooler Marty McFly Michael J. Fox, during the height of his TV success) is catapulted back to the '50s where he sees his parents in their teens, and accidentally changes the history of how Mom and Dad met. Filled with the humorous ideology of the '50s, filtered through the knowledge of the '80s (actor Ronald Reagan is president, ha!), the film comes off as a Twilight Zone episode written by Preston Sturges. Filled with memorable effects and two wonderfully off-key, perfectly cast performances: Christopher Lloyd as the crazy scientist who builds the time machine (a DeLorean luxury car) and Crispin Glover as Marty's geeky dad.

Special Features:

- Commentary with Producers Bob Gale and Neil Canton

- Q&A with Director Robert Zemeckis and Producer Bob Gale

Serious... I hate the DVD industry. I mean, I love DVDs, but the people who make them (packaging, features, releases) - SUCK.

DAMN ...another way to "RAPE the customer....I already have "Back to the Future - The Complete Trilogy (Widescreen Edition)" which comes W./Parts 1 through 3 & all these Special Features already listed, as well as some additional Special Features I.E., Outtakes, deleted scenes..etc!

Be buying these soon... original DVD trilogy was rushed.

And about the "no Blu-ray" situation:
    - There are Blu-ray DVDs being released with no special edition DVDs to go along with them, so this is to be expected. I have been patiently awaiting the re-release of "The X-Files: Fight the Future" on special edition DVD, as the Blu-ray is coming out December 2nd, and the original DVD sucked for features. Yet - there will be NO special edition DVD for this, only the Blu-ray release with all the new features. So what is that about? This is probably why they are doing it with "Back to the Future" and the no-Blu-ray release.

I guess Robert Zemeckis is talking to George Lucas on how to keep releasing old films in new packaging in order to get our hard earned money....

The only way this sh*t stops is if people stop buying them....Here is a thought...turn on a cable channel..BTTF is on everyday for the past month...watch it just on there and save your frigin money!!!

you know what i watched all three of these movies a couple months ago, and in my humble opinion the first one was the only one worth the time. parts 2 and three were waaay more stupid than i remembered them being, from my youth.

Blu Ray versions would be great and certainly in the offing.

From what I read, it seems as though the original is a TWO DISC (the others aren't) with new special features because the article says, "the sequels Back To The Future Part II and Back To The Future Part III will be re-released and re-packaged on the 10th as well, ALTHOUGH they will feature the same special features as before." Implying that the original two disc has new features.

Either way, it's worth waiting for Blu Ray.

I am with all you guys. I refuse to pick up these DVDs (even if they have spiffier packaging and are finally released separately). Unless Universal gives us the Blu-rays as well, just forget it. Paramount did it with The Godfather movies, this series should follow suit. Then maybe we'd get the Jurassic Park movies, Alien movies, and Star Wars movies. Back to the Future would sell VERY well on Blu-ray.

I got the 3 disc set a while back and this is exactly the same thing. same features and everything. the only difference is you get 3 cool dvd cases. They look awesome but i would only buy them if it was in Bluray.
