Avatar Takes Another $16.4 Million on Monday

Avatar skeptics have succumbed to the powerful word of mouth the film has generated, as evident by the film's hefty $16.4 million pull on a Monday. According to ERC Box Office, the film has had an amazing weekday run, bringing its total grosses up to nearly $94 million dollars after just four days in release.

While the film's international Monday grosses are not yet available, the film brought in an estimated $165 million overseas over the weekend. That currently brings its worldwide ticket sales to $258.9 million.

As the holiday weekend approaches, analysts suspect that Avatar will continue to perform quite strongly. Directed by James Cameron, the film stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Michelle Rodriguez, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Peter Mensah, Laz Alonso, Wes Studi, Stephen Lang, and. Matt Gerald.

I saw this in Imax on sunday with 3 buddies. I know 3 of us have talked our wives into seeing it with us now. My wife and I are going on saturday. That is repeat business and word of mouth at the same time. I'll bet this kind of thing is gonna happen all over the country for the next few weeks. Avatar will be hugely successful.

I agree. This is going to make it.

When Titanic came out it was word of mouth that powered it. It made the same steady numbers that weren't that high at all but kept them up. Like 50 and 60 mills for about 10 weeks. So tis might be on the top 50 list just yet.
