Avatar and Night at the Museum 2 Release Dates Set

20th Century Fox has set release dates on several of it's higher-profile films scheduled to be released in 2009, according to Variety.

The studio will kick off summer 2009 with the release of the Hugh Jackman starrer X-Men Origins: Wolverine on May 1. Night at the Museum 2: Escape From the Smithsonian has been set for May 22 which bumps James Cameron's 3-D Avatar from the Memorial Day frame to December 18. Pushing back the release of Avatar from May to December allows more time to work on the effects and allows more time for additional theaters to install 3-D screens both here and abroad.

Fox Animation and Blue Sky Studios also announced that Fox has decided to produce Ice Age III in digital 3-D for a July 1, 2009 release.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian was released May 22nd, 2009 and stars Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, Robin Williams, Christopher Guest, Alain Chabat, Steve Coogan. The film is directed by Shawn Levy.

Avatar was released December 18th, 2009 and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel Moore, Giovanni Ribisi, Michelle Rodriguez, Laz Alonso. The film is directed by James Cameron.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs was released July 1st, 2009 and stars Eunice Cho, Karen Disher, Harrison Fahn, Maile Flanagan, Jason Fricchione, Bill Hader, Kelly Keaton, Joey King. The film is directed by Carlos Saldanha, Mike Thurmeier.

"Night at the Museum 2: Escape From the Smithsonian" is another sequel that I will passon..the 1st 1 was boring and very silly..It was aimed at kids below the age of 13 and nothing more! & why "Ice Age 3"???To move "Avatar" which is an Orginial fim to Deceember sucks!

As long as Harry Gregson-Williams stays on board to compose Wolverine and John Powell comes back for Ice Age 3 then I will be very excited.

Night At The Museum should try for PG-13 and throw in a few hilarious Ben Stiller "oh sh*t!"'s.
