James Cameron and News Corp. have started to discuss a sequel
It was said that director James Cameron, "has ideas for it," and Murdoch added that, "We will be pushing one." However, Murdoch also told those on the call not to, "hold your breath for another one," which could indicate that we may not see the sequel for quite some time.
The DVD and Blu-ray release was also discussed on the call and, while a specific release date wasn't given, Murdoch said that it will be released sometime during the company's fiscal year, which ends on June 30. It was also said that the DVD/BD release would not be in 3D, although News Corp. COO Chase Carey indicated that a 3D release could come, "further down the road."
Avatar was released December 18th, 2009 and stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Joel Moore, Giovanni Ribisi, Michelle Rodriguez, Laz Alonso. The film is directed by James Cameron.

I thought journey to the center of the earths 3d effects looked better then avatars...as funny as that soundsand i noticed too that the 3d movies released on dvd/bd do look better on flat screen/panel tvs then the normal tv...has anybody else notice that ? just wondering....and i know avatar's effects were made to look like they surround you in the movie while other 3d movies like final destination and journey to the center of earth are more "coming at ya" effects....

A Na'vi in a human form to where? If Earth it will become 'George of the Jungle' The Fallen, just a funny thought bro... cause the Na'vi's were just hunters... But it could happen, if explained well by Cameron in a story like another hundred years more... For me, this second part maybe Earth's revenge, with the 'new' Quaritch leading.

Avatar is not movie for Oscar. Its just fun and beautiful to watch. Story is fine. Dialog is not so good. It's overrated. It only had the bigest box office yet becouse of the name of director and becouse it was presented in a media as "something unseen and new experiance".

i am sorry but hate me if you want, avatar was an ok movie, i thought it was overrated sure it had its moments, and releaseing it on dvd/bd without the 3d version they are just waiting to rake in the dough because they are going to try and make it the "Biggest,Grossest money makeing dvd sales ever recorded" i can see them pushing it to sell in the billions.....but hey thats my opinion.....
