Maya Entertainment has purchased the distribution rights to August evening. According to Variety, this is writer Chris Eska's first major American production.

The film revolves around an aging undocumented farm worker named Jaime and his young, widowed daughter-in-law, Lupe, as their lives are thrown into upheaval. Lupe is more of a daughter to Jaime than his own children, and the two try to stick together, but they find it an almost impossible task.

The cast includes Pedro Castaneda, Veronica Loren, Abel Becerra, Walter Perez, Sandra Rios and Cesar Flores.

The film doesn't have a firm release date at this time.
