Attack the Block will hit theaters on July 29 through Screen Gems
Attack the Block will receive some stiff competition for box office dollars that weekend, with three wide releases and several other indie platform releases already slated. Cowboys & Aliens, Crazy Stupid Love, and The Smurfs will all receive a wide release on July 29. Limited releases include The Devil's Double, The Guard, Good Neighbours, and the documentary Life in a Day.
The July 29 weekend is now shaping one to be one of the most crowded weekends all summer (or all year) at the box office.
Joe Cornish makes his directorial debut with Attack the Block, which centers on a rough-and-tumble group of London street kids who have to fend off an alien onslaught.
Attack the Block was released July 29th, 2011 and stars Nick Frost, Jodie Whittaker, Luke Treadaway, John Boyega, Adam Leese, Joey Ansah, Flaminia Cinque, Chris Wilson. The film is directed by Joe Cornish.

This film has been getting a lot of buzzzzzz. I am interested in anything that Wright's name is attached to so for that i will give it a chance but stateside this film seems to get a lot of hate. Only time will tell.

I smell one-of-the-worst films of the year.

I see shades of Super 8 with this one. Not saying I think it's gonna be as good, but the plots are similar.
