Ubisoft is bringing Splinter Cell and Assassin's Creed to the big screen
Assassin's Creed is an epic action-adventure, which centers on the conflict between Templars and Assassins, two secret organizations with different ideologies who have influenced, according to the game, most major historical events.
An action drama in the vein of The Bourne Identity, Splinter Cell centers on an elite secret agent fighting world terrorism and struggling to protect his daughter.
Ghost Recon is a tech-driven war actioner set in the near future, and follows a secret, elite team of soldiers fighting for world peace with cutting-edge military technology.
"Our strategy is not to diversify but to bolster the appeal of our franchises -- that's why we want to make sure our films will reflect the brands accurately and consolidate our fan base while expanding beyond the games' primary target audience," Jean de Rivieres said.
Jean-Julien Baronnet added, "We want to keep ownership, retain control over the film content, and we're open to work with studios on the development of our projects, and eventually collaborate on the pre-casting, pre-budget and script."

Ubisoft Motion Pictures hopes to have a script ready by the end of the year.

@combatmadness360 I think that's the reason they sealed his lips together, hahahaha.
But yeah, you are right. That movie was a letdown for Deadpool fans. Probably the most enjoyable part of the movie was seeing Wade slaughter those guards at the top floor of the mob building.

@bruce-ha no word on when it will start shooting yet, sadly. and you're right, reynolds was born to play deadpool! it's just a goddamn shame that they raped him and the charcter in that f*cking wolverine movie.............WHY WOULD YOU TAKE THE MOUTH OFF OF SOMEONE WHO'S CHARACTER IS FAMOUS FOR BEING "THE MERC WITH THE MOUTH"!!!???? WHYYYYYYY!!!???

@combatmadness360 Any news on when the shooting will start? Ryan said back in 09 that the movie was in pre stages of development. Really pumped about the writers of Zombieland being attached to Deadpool, they can create humor like no other writers.
That has got to be one of my most anticipated movies ever, cause Ryan Reynolds is Wade/Deadpool... it is as if Ryan was born for this role.

@bruce-ha Tim Miller (VFX department on the first two x-men films) is attached to direct, his first directing job I think, and Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (writers of ZOMBIELAND) are set to pen the screenplay. It's apparently going to be a total reboot, and a hard R action comedy. hopefully it's a great film, but we all know FOX STUDIOS's recent track record......

In the game, the main character's name is Desmond Miles and he uses a machine that lets him go back in memory/"time" through his DNA to relive moments from his ancestors lives. In the first game, he relives the moments from Altair and in the second game it's Ezio.
It would be so great to see this franchise on the bigscreen and well made. Pretty much sure they would have to make it trilogy from the demand.
On another note, your avatar kinda reminded me of the Deadpool movie with Ryan Reynolds, has there been any news or updates in that regard?

@bruce-ha That is true. assassins creed does have a great story, they could make it differentiate the two if the plot has more of the future and time elements. and that guy, if he can act, would be awesome to see on the big screen as altair (or whatever the dudes name in the real world is. is it desmond or something?)

@combatmadness360 If i were to see any similarities between the two, it would disturb me as well (if that makes any sense to you). But i think there is enough in between that it would differentiate the two. The story of Assassins Creed is also very different:
Spoilers:
Since the futuristic setting and technology available allows Desmond to go back and relive the moments of his ancestors. Him meeting historical figures like Da Vinci would also be cool in the theaters, wonder who they'd cast as Leonardo.
End of spoilers...
This would be very welcoming to the bigscreen. Just hope they cast this guy to do the stunts and acting of Desmond (his name is Randez Francisco):

@bruce-ha I've played the games, so I am in fact familiar with them. I can see how someone could not see the similarities in the film between both Prince of Persia and Assassins Creed, but it bothered me to a great degree. I won't try to change your views, I"m just saying, if an Assassins Creed movie were to come out, It would bother me to a great degree, the similarities between the two. It would ruin my enjoyment of the film.

Prince of persia games also had lots of parkour elements in them, like wallrunning etc.
The Prince of persia movie felt nothing like Assassins Creed to me, not a single scene. The dialect of the language had also nothing to do with Assassins Creed.
Go to Youtube if you aren't familiar with the games cause there are lots of differences between them.

The Assassin's Creed games are really good. They've really stepped their game up since the first installment and I've enjoyed the sequel and Brotherhood fully. I'm anticipating the next chapter in the Ezio trilogy, and then AC3. It'll be hard to adapt to film, but I can picture it being pretty epic in the right hands. However, Hollywood will most likely not put it in the right hands lol

Well there's always those video games movies and tv shows that suck like Super Mario Bros., Max Payne, Hitman, and the legend of Zelda that sucked because of the horrile directting, storyline and not enough character development and dialouge. But Prince of Perisa was very enjoyable to watch an an Assassin Creed movie will be like be cool if like Prince of Persia which had good dialouge and nice acting. All i has too say is I nominate Ryan Reynolds as Desmond and Ezio

@bruce-ha I'm not talking about the games, I'm saying that the prince of persia film felt more like an assassins creed film than a prince of persia one. It was all brits and parkour.
