Neil LaBute is in negotiations to direct and Ashton Kutcher is in talks to co-star in the thriller, Lakeview Terrace for Screen Gems and Will Smith's Overbrook Entertainment.

Samuel L. Jackson and Kerry Washington already have been cast in the film, which centers on an LAPD officer (Jackson) who will stop at nothing to force out the interracial couple that recently moved in next door. The Hollywood Reporter says Kutcher would play Washington's spouse.

David Loughery wrote the screenplay and is executive producing; Howard Korder is set for a re-write. Shooting on Lakewood Terrace will begin in June in Los Angeles.
