Arnold Schwarzenegger puts his acting career on hold
Arnold Schwarzenegger puts his acting career on hold
Arnold Schwarzenegger had set up a number of movie and TV projects since leaving the California Governor's office in January. Today, the actor put all of those projects on hold, to focus on his personal life. Here's the statement released by the actor's office.

"Governor Schwarzenegger is focusing on personal matters and is not willing to commit to any production schedules or timelines. This includes Cry Macho. The Terminator franchise and other projects under consideration. We will resume discussions when Governor Schwarzenegger decides."


The actor recently separated from his wife, Maria Shriver, and revealed just days ago that he secretly fathered a child with one of his longtime staff members. It isn't known yet if Cry Macho or Terminator 5 will attempt to move on without Arnold Schwarzenegger, or if they will wait until he is ready.

Cry Macho comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Terminator 5 is in development and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger.

    I personally dont give a sh*t about actor's outside lives....but it's ridiculous that he is just now telling his wife, right at the time he was supposed to start making movies again!!! Unbelievable.

    Well then Arnie who's been a naughty boy lol. I think its a shame hes taking a stand back at the moment to concentrate on private matters, yeah hes aged a fair bit, but i grew up on the mans films and was looking forward to him acting again. SORT IT OUT SOON, WE MISS YOU lol x

    @incmob It might sound like blasphemy, but maybe it's time for Arnold to hang it up altogether. He's getting up there in age, this whole scandal is blowing up in his face, Shriver has lawyered up and will prob take him to town in the divorce. Depending on how much she gets in the settlement, might be time for him to stop and retire. The guy had an awesome run and starred in some of my favorite movies, nothing can take that away.

    @rojodiablo i agree completely with you, but this is damage control for him, but your right, most of the actors in his age bracket are not playing the roles they did 20 or 30 years ago. the thing with arnold he has not been forgotten but out of the public eye, if politics are not your forte. and him coming back was huge news, seemed like everyone reported it on the web, and the fact that he may have continued his politics... that is pretty much out of the question now because of this... so what has he got left... bodybuilding or acting, and one of those is not really an option.

    The bat nipples never bothered me really but letting that last film get so out of control is another story. I hate to hear of this setback for Arnold. I can see where this helps him get this situation under control and all but we'll have to hope it doesn't turn into a year or two hiatus. At his age it might be too late for him by then.

    I think it is a good decision on arnolds part to put filmaking on hold. Although he has made a mess of things for himself he is at least accountable for it, the media did not find this out... he admitted it. if we can forgive mel gibson for anti sematic remarks, bill clinton for messing around with monica lewinsky, george lucas for the star wars prequels, bruce willis for hudson hawk, billy squier for that awful dance in the video for "rock me tonite", and joel schumacher for putting nipples on the batsuit, then i think i can forgive arnold for getting some suga from the maid.

    Take care of your baggage arnold, and get back on screen soon, because it is "Time to kick some iccceeeee!"
