Are Michael Cera and Beyonce Heading for Gilligan's Island?
Speaking with Tv Guide during his induction into the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Sherwood explained that a deal, "Just happened in the last 48 hours. I can't take this much excitement at my age." Dawn Wells, who played Mary Ann on the hit series, likes the idea of Beyonce playing Ginger and stated, "There isn't anybody sexier than Beyonce!"
The Gilligan's Island movie doesn't have a set start date at this time, and no actors have been signed just yet. You can expect to hear more on this project in the very near future.

I agree with SWAK1774. I think they should get someone like Isla Fisher or another Sultry Redhead for the part of Ginger. As a redhead I am so sick of Hollywood remaking/ relaunching movies or TV shows that originally had a redhead as the female lead and giving it to a dumb pop star (Who can't act their way out of a paper bag) or another blond. However I do think they have it right by giving the part of Gilligan to Michael Cera.

SWAK1774
No, no, no! Not Beyonce as Ginger! I want to see a sexy red head playing the part. If they are going to do a remake at least stick close to what the characters looked like. I loved this show when I was a kid.

Annoucing today is that Gilligan's Island is now Fluffy Town.
Oh please, this is a very bad idea and who the hell is Michael Cera I've never heard of him but have heard of Beyonce. Not a fan of hers but who is.

Michael Cera is perfect for the part. Some other posters thinks he is too dorky? What was Gilligan? Do some of the younger posters even remember this show? Bob Denver wasn't exactly Brad Pitt. As far as stupid movies go, I know ALL of you have a secret stupid movie that for some reason or another you love. Yeah, Gilligan's Island will probably bomb, but it will become someone's check your brain at the door movie.

wow this is gonna suck. The show sucked and doesn't deserve a movie decades later. Especially not with this crummy cast

I never thought that having Beyonce in a movie would be a good thing. She's a terrible actress and this movie is a dumb idea.

Trying to 'nab' Beyonce? I really do not think it would take much to get her to take the part. I still do not understand the fascination with her and acting because she is a horrible actress.

How is dark knight being ignorant? The original Ginger was white. I don't care either way who plays Ginger, cause I won't see it.

it sounds interesting and ofcourse michael cera would kill it. i don't really like beyonce as an actress which is why i would not consider that good casting. the not casting her because she is a black "chick", not so sure if i agree with that. the dark night sounds like a skin head to me. stop being ignorant people.

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale...
If this takes Beyonce out of that Wonder Woman delusion, I won't mind a bit, even though the original Ginger is white. However, TV to Movie adaptions have liberties to shake things up. I'm cool with that, but I'm not sure that I'll see this in theaters.
