Screenwriter Adam Cozad has been hired by New Regency to rewrite the sci-fi project Archangels. We first reported on Archangels back in July when Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski became attached to direct.

Adam Cozad will rewrite the original screenplay by Andrew Will, which centers on an elite military force who hunts down aliens disguised as humans on earth. Adam Cozad made the 2009 Black List with his adaptation The Gray Man, which is also set up at New Regency. Adam Cozad is also one of the writers on the Untitled Jack Ryan Project at Paramount.

Ridley Scott and Tony Scott will produce Archangels through their Scott Free Productions banner, along with Joseph Kosinski.

No production schedule was given for Archangels, and it is unclear if this will be Joseph Kosinski's next project as a director. He also has Oblivion lined up, which we reported a few weeks ago may land at Universal Pictures with Tom Cruise in early talks to star.

Archangels is in development . The film is directed by Joseph Kosinski.

With Scott Free Productions involved, I'm on board for Archangels for sure. Curious to also see what becomes of Oblivion and if Cruise stays involved.
