Anton Fuqua's Brooklyn's Finest Is First Buy at Sundance

The first buy at this year's Sundance was Anton Fuqua's griping cop drama Brooklyn's Finest. The director, best known for his Denzel Washington drama Training Day, sold North American distribution rights to Senator for under $5 million dollars.

The film revolves around a group of New York police officers battling their own moral and ethical dilemmas. According to Variety, the cast includes Richard Gere, Ethan Hawke, and Don Cheadle. At this time, Senator is calling the film a "work in progress". The music is temporary and Fuqua is going to reshoot the ending.

The film will be reedited and released near the end of this year, with the intention of attracting award consideration.

Brooklyn's Finest was released March 5th, 2010 and stars Richard Gere, Don Cheadle, Ethan Hawke, Wesley Snipes, Vincent D'Onofrio, Brian F. O'Byrne, Will Patton, Michael K. Williams. The film is directed by Antoine Fuqua.
