In a story from Variety, it seems that Annette Bening and Naomi Watts are set to star in Mother and Child. The film is to be written and directed by Rodrigo Garcia.

The tale features multiple story lines as it follows a woman who abandoned her daughter and another woman who is looking to adopt a child. Other stars of the film include Kerry Washington and Shareeka Epps.

Westend Films will be handling bringing the international distribution with the company Endeavor taking care of things domestically.

"This is an incredibly emotional tale about the choices we make, missed opportunities and unbreakable blood bonds between mother and daughter," offered WestEnd's Eve Schoukroun.

Mother and Child will begin shooting in 2009.
